Changing daily quests to 'first come first serve'

Sounds to me like a bug.

If this was a deliberate change than I am scratching my head.

Not mine; I won’t bother. And in 2 days, 2 hours I won’t be playing. (I was planning on a break anyway, but a few days break has turned indefinite. I may just wait for 9.1.)

'Tis not. They did indeed intended to change it from its former state, and all they intend apparently to fix is the rate at which they spawn.

How is this possibly a bug? It works consistently for everyone and mirrors similar changes. Most importantly, how would they not notice? Are you suggesting that they have the most incompetent QA department on the planet (perhaps they borrowed Microsoft’s printing testers.)

Not to mention their ‘out’ was addressing it and saying it was a bug and it’s been fixed. Instead they’ve just increased the spawn rate…right

I tried to do this quest today and was in there over a hour and could only get 2 of them I gave up …its BS change.

why change it in the first place?

this game literally went through QoL changes to quests back in MoP so that people could loot the same item and not have to run around waiting on respawns

why are we regressing??? and why on just two random quests?

We just need new developers at this point if this is their only focus on “helping the game”

Funniest thing is that they copy this concept from GW2, but now they wanna scrap it for what?

My guess is an internal power struggle.

Been there. I was once caught up in what was essentially a pissing contest between the CTO and my Product Manager. That the CTO’s idiot feature was a complete failure didn’t save my job.

well, there is enough of them with small areas that have non sharable tags that take forever now. So with these taking a long time as well, I just won’t do them. If it takes me longer to get “renown” which I already have with my chosen gang (covenant) I just won’t get more and I’ll log off sooner. Its getting old already for the non shareable quest targets anyway…this just adds to it. So it just adds onto the days I don’t feel like logging in to fight with it. My opinion, your mileage may vary…

you guys still go to the maw? lol

When I ran it on 4 of my 6 characters it worked just as it always has. If someone got to the item before I did it de-spawned but came right back, took a couple sec’s for it to show up again.

such a stupid move, fighting for items in quests is some of the worst design choices ever and so lets do that in the maw? one of the worst zones in wow history… god blizzard seriously? i am speechless at this point, i shouldn’t even be surprised anymore, just stupid design choices after stupid design choices.

The Maw is the worst zone I can remember since I started playing in Cataclysm. It’s so bad that I don’t do the weeklies, don’t do callings that send me there, I just go once a week to pick up souls and any dailies which can easily be completed while picking up souls. Such as the blazing ingot quest.

Now, obviously I don’t know how common my playstyle is. What I do know is that, if they can add a mere 2 minutes to my average 10 minutes of picking up souls, they can tell their bosses that since 9.0.5 dropped, my engagement with the Maw zone is up 10%. If grabbing ingots while collecting souls is a common playstyle among those of us who hate the Maw, well…look! we fixed the zone! People are 10% more engaged with the Maw and putting all of the 9.1 content there won’t royally backfire in our faces.

Considering this was also done in 8.3, with the N’zoth Invasions, I’d definitely chalk this up to yet another instance of Blizzard taking the wrong lesson from Classic’s success…

Shared objectives seem to be going the way of the dodo, lately. Hell, even questing in a group can be irritating as of late - things you’d think, naturally, would be shared, just aren’t sometimes. It’s arbitrary, without any rhyme or reason.

So irritating.
