Changing Covenant Renown

I was at renown level 6 on night fae and wanted to switch into kyrian just because it was better in pvp and not that far behind in pvp. When I changed to kyrian I went through all the campaign quest, doing one of the 1000 anima quests and another maw souls quest. When I was done I was renown level 4, not 6. I don’t know where the other quest is there aren’t any popping up. I don’t know if this is a daily reset thing but I was told that if you change covenants you can catch up all the way through time.

Changing takes 2 weeks, if you want to change do it on a monday so you do it in 2 days.

Not much clear info on this unfortunately because Blizzard has…shall we say let communication fall by the wayside in recent years. Changing does NOT take two weeks, changing BACK to the covenant you left is what takes time. According to Icyveins and WoWhead, there is a catchup mechanic in place to drop you renown from Dungeons, PvP, and World quests. I have a couple reports off these forums/google that renown items HAVE dropped, but at somewhat abysmal drop rates. A couple people have mentioned that you seem to be able to catch up a little, but not fully, but I couldn’t confirm there was any kind of “soft cap”. It’s honestly not very clear and I hope they at least consider a blue post clearing up how Renown catch up works, or if it does at all.

You can catch up. you just need to wait for the weeklys to reset. I switched from necro to night fae and am back up to 6 already.

I’ve only done a single 1000 anima quest, so the weekly reset comes around, I’ll get the quest I need for “catch up”, but will I get that week’s 1000 anima quest? Or will I always stay 1 level behind?

There are catch up mechanics already in place. If you’re behind, you can catch up via high level content, like dungeons, raids, and even rewards for Callings.

I don’t know how much that applies when your switching Covenants. You may not be able to “catch up” until later.
