Dual spec does not enable anything you can’t already do by paying for a respec manually
Not having to pay and do it manually alters player behavior and alters the way the game will be played. This is clearly a change to the meta.
Dual spec is awesome. It just removes one of MANY gold sinks the game has. Classic has plenty of other gold sinks. I love that we are getting dual spec.
No it doesn’t. People who will use dual spec were already changing their talents as necessary, and people who will demand meta specs for their groups were always demanding meta specs for their groups
it does if you can switch specs out in the field like, obviously it does
so let’s make sure it is restricted to at trainer only
uh huh me thinks you’ll be around whining about 1000g mounts soon enough
that would defeat the purpose of having dual spec then…
i thought the purpose was to be able to switch without paying the “exorbitant” cost of 50g
It factually changes player behavior it’s not an opinion. It is going to change the “most effective tactic available” for everyone in the game. It’s fine if you don’t agree.
they refuse to acknowledge this simple fact it’s like they just don’t get it. the concept is too hard for them to grasp? lol
People who will use dual spec were already changing their talents as needed, and people who demand meta specs for their groups have always demanded meta specs for their groups
you can say “this is a fact” all you like that doesn’t make it true
Everyone will use dual spec because it’s going to become the most effective tactic available. I’m starting to think that you are the one that doesn’t understand what a meta is and how game design alters the meta and affects player behavior.
I highly doubt that. Hell, I know that’s not true, because I already plan not to make any use of it
You’re really attached to the Classic warrior meta ? I don’t care much about PvE but more balance wouldn’t hurt now, would it ?
If DMT buffs are like it is currently, I wouldn’t mind not spending 25g to get a summon and a saved ID. Can be a way to make gold for hunters though but I won’t cry over it if it is changed.
Little to no importance, but if we want a balanced PvP scene some horde racial could be tuned down for sure.
The buff/debuff limitation lifted is good enough.
It won’t but it wouldn’t hurt.
I doubt it’s gonna be an issue. It’s a big QoL that you only have to unlock once on your char, it’s normal to make it costly. It’d be nice if the cost of respec would cap below 50g though.
The locked faction on the PvP server is a very big W. So stupid to roll on a PvP server with 98% of the population on a single faction. This way PvE andies will go PvE server and leave PvP players enjoy WPvP.
Although with the experiment with layers I can smell a wave of whining as it probably won’t be smooth at first. If SoD was any preview on that, there has been moments where the layering was bugged and people in the same grp/raid would still be on different layers.
You know it won’t happen. I’m ok to wait for Classic+ to have access to an UD paladin (fingers crossed).
Not only them but having a more balanced PvE scene wouldn’t hurt. It’s one of the perks of SoD, being able to play pretty much every class/spec without having warrior doing 3 times your DPS.
Indeed. Every class has 3 specs, everything that allows those specs to be viable in late game content should be welcomed.
Again, is it that nice being stuck with warrior tanks ?
We’re starting to hear it yeah. Doesn’t really matter to me tbh.
I prefer the progression system so we don’t skip early content too fast.
Don’t feel like it’s necessary but haven’t played ERA in a while. If a more varied itemisation makes more specs relevant then I’m all for it.
I guess it would hurt to see those changes for players like you who want a true Vanilla experience. What Blizzard is sensing though, is that the player-base is getting bored with a game they know everything about.
Most people still absolutely enjoy the lore and the universe but it’s probably why the WoW classic population quickly reach a raid-logging routine. The magic is gone not because of the changes implemented but because there is no mystery anymore. 20 years of guides and sims tells you everything there is to know. How can you expect players not to raid-log when there is nothing to discover anymore ?
The heavy grind isn’t enjoyable anymore for most players. They don’t like the repetitive gameplay that made WoW Vanilla legendary. The player-base evolved and is now more demanding. Good or bad, that’s how it is and Blizzard being a business they are taking that into account.
They went overboard in SoD with the changes (especially in terms of class gameplay) but there’s been a lot of tremendous addition and change to the game that made it even more amazing than the original (imho).
They seem to now try a soft form of Classic+ by adding a few QoL without touching the classes but it’s very possible that they decide to bring more changes to these new servers. Hence why they kept the 2019 ERA servers for those who want to keep something closer to the original Vanilla.
Sounds like you enjoy wasting your time. What is the argument AGAINST dual spec?
What fun aspects are added to the game about not having dual spec? And do they outweigh the fun aspects of bringing dual spec into the game?
I’ll be able to have more build variety and partake in other activities now. In classic 2019, i played a resto shaman. It was literally press chain heal, or dont play the game. Respec 50g if you want to do literally anything other than raid log. I quit because of it, my toon felt worthless and I wasnt interested in grinding/wasting my time for needless respecs. My IRL lifespan is more valuable than that.
Did you…mean to respond to me? I’m fully in support of dual spec, I just don’t intend to use it myself because I only plan to tank
