#Changes was the right move

dual spec will make the game less interesting. people will quit faster than they normally would. this is what happens :expressionless: as usual, they think they do but they don’t

wonder how many psychology graduates regret their life choices and or have a severe drinking problem, knowing that when they start a new weekly session and they ask “what do you want to talk about today?”, the response will be a hysterical “I WANT TO TALK ABOUT HOW BLIZZARD IS RUINING THE ANNIVERSARY SERVERS BY INCLUDING DUAL SPEC!!!11!1!!1!”

this but unironically :expressionless:

Stuff redditors will be demanding after a critical mass of people begin raiding:

:black_small_square:︎ Warriors are OP, normalize rage

:black_small_square:︎ World buffs suck, change them

:black_small_square:︎ Human weapon skill is OP, change it

:black_small_square:︎ HoTs from different healers should stack

:black_small_square:︎ Battleground x favors faction y, change it

:black_small_square:︎ Why is dual spec so expensive? Change it

:black_small_square:︎ Server faction balance isn’t perfect, fix it

:black_small_square:︎ Release belves and draenei now, so my dad with 3 jobs and 16 kids has time to level one

:black_small_square:︎ Ret paladins need to do more damage

:black_small_square:︎ Why are hybrids stuck wearing a dress, healing?

:black_small_square:︎ Give paladins a taunt, so they too can not taunt all the taunt-immune bosses

:black_small_square:︎ Increase the drop rates!

:black_small_square:︎ Dire Maul/ ZG should be available right now

:black_small_square:︎ This itemization sucks, fix it

The game will then change based on how many upvotes any one of the above gets, because design by anonymous committee is a totally valid way to run a multi-billion-dollar service.

exactly, the demands are quiet right now because nobody is raiding. but once people start getting to 60, the whining will be unbearable :expressionless: blizzard WILL give in with more stupid changes. this is a guarantee

I think the way it works is that the developers are just looking to have their confirmation bias satisfied. Even easily botted polls, or what echo chambers they agree with say that punishes dissent. It doesn’t matter that anybody from any community can just go to the reddit classic community and override the people that normally go there. If they want to do something, they’ll use this as an excuse. And they want to bring as much of retail over as possible.

At least anything that enhances the game for parse loggers. Any of the things that enhance the game for people outside of the parse logging community they don’t care about, and can then tell themselves that they’re keeping the sanctity of classic by not bringing those things over.

Eyr just enjoy the game :expressionless:

Some changes are fine, others are not. We all have our own lines we draw in the sand. For anybody looking for a fresh server experience in something that’s true to the Vanilla gameplay experience, you’re on the wrong side of that line. You win some you lose some.

Pretty solid bait and switch on Blizzard’s part though, lol. Make your big Warcraft Direct announcement and get a bunch of positive reactions so you can look awesome to your shareholders. Then trickle in a bunch of divisive changes that will split your community.

Classic Blizzard move

Well good news, they haven’t done anything like that. Dual spec just makes it easier and more convenient to do something you could already do before

Oh okay. Well that’s fine if they charge 50 gold every time you switch. And you can only switch in town at your trainer.

Dual spec changes the way the game will be played and player behavior thus altering the meta. It’s fine if you don’t agree.

It will not. People who will use dual spec were already paying to change talents as necessary. People who will demand a meta spec to join their raids were already demanding meta specs to join their raids

The only impact dual spec will have is being able to immediately swap to what you need for whatever you’re about to do, instead of having to fly back to your capitol, pay for a respec, reallocate all your talents, reset all your ability bars, and then fly back to whatever dungeon you’re about to do because everyone else is just afk waiting for their summon. Or the group disbands because no warlock joined and they’re too lazy to start moving, and so you just wasted your time for nothing

In fact, dual spec is more likely to encourage people to try new things, because if this new meme spec they thought up turns out to be just that, they have their normal spec to fall back on until the next time they’re back in a major city

you’re the only one who thinks that

Nah, it was absolute rejoice across the internet with the announcement of dual spec. Only like 8 people on these forums are upset about it.

Great, who cares about the meta. 99.9% of people don’t care about the meta and don’t participate in the meta, including YOU.

Get over it or stay on 2019 Classic realms!

you just wanna ruin the game by adding in MuH CoNvEnIeNcE features :expressionless: you’ll end up quitting when you get bored thanks to all this convenience. either that, or they make dual spec so restrictive that it prevents the worst from happening. i’m hoping for that.

What you just described qualifies as a change in the meta.

I dont think you understand what a meta is to begin with

Thank you so much.

A meta is the optimal way to play the game. The optimal way to play the game will change with the addition of dual spec. That is undeniable.
