TL;DR: 1) bring the Scarab Lord mount/title back from extinction by giving it to those who have the veteran of the shifting sands feat of strength, 2) Remove the parenthesis text from the feat of strength (it’s toxic). 3) Teach Draconic to those who completed the quest as they literally completed the book that teaches the language (Draconic for Dummies).
The amount of people who would have them, would still be extremely rare. Many of them probably have outgrown WoW due to adulting.
Full version:
This was added as a swift kick to those who did the quest, and were hoping to transfer over to the Borean Tundra server and be part of the final gate event. One of those who wrote the text for the feat added in parenthesis a “haha” message (even if someone else got the mount).
The last realm to have their gates closed, Azuremyst Isle, was EU WoW. The WoW community there worked with those on the realm and those off to hold a huge (huge for WoW) event by everyone who wanted to on the server, to get the quest completed, and those off server would gather mats and bring them over. When the 6 month window opened, over 300 transfers happened, there straggling quests were completed, and everyone was happy.
The last US realm was Borean Tundra. Blizzard US, chose to add a 3% increase to the war effort, to make sure this event wouldn’t happen. They knew how excited people were, and how much money they’d make from the transfers to and then from the realm, but they chose to do the opposite of their EU cousins.
The amount of players for US would have been around 300, for doing the event if it went as planned. The amount of new players who would have the mount/title today would equal .00025% give or take, of all WoW players in US. That’s still EXTREMELY rare and if you consider it’s many years since Cata changed things, many of those players may have also retired from the game.
I suggest that the gong be reactivated/interactable for those who have the feat of strength. You’re still only going to get a small handful of players, couple hundred, if they’re still around, and you’d make them happy.
Considering everything going on, we could use a little positivity. I’m not even talking about the more recent events. But this won’t hurt other players. They chose to not do the questline then, and those who did choose it held out hope that Blizzard may come around.
Would Blizzard rather things be gone and forgotten or would they like to occasionally see players who were dedicated back then to complete something, and appreciate the work that went into that amazing questline? I mean it’s almost like a “thank you for your service” when you see the title. We thank them for making something amazing while they thank us for doing the work to complete the long quest and appreciate the magnificence that went into it.
