Changes to PVP Gear Season 2

Does anybody have any ideas of the item levels and details yet

According to an earlier post about PvE gearing, PvP gearing will be staying the same as it is now with just one change, a change to crafting gear. Instead of there being the two PvP pieces per armor class that are PvP designated, any gear slot can have PvP gear crafted for it with stat missives or embellishments that will still scale to the honor/conquest ilvl in PvP.

There will be an extra crafting mat that adds the PvP scaling to the item. The mat will cost either honor or conquest and the cost will correspond to what a piece of gear for that slot costs.

For example, spriests use drakebreaker boots right now because there aren’t haste/vers cloth boots from conquest. Next season we’d be able to just make some haste/vers boots and also put whatever embellishment we want on it and it will scale to either honor or conquest ilvl depending on which mat we use, while the mat will cost what a boot item usually costs in honor or conquest.

As for honor and conquest gear in general, it should follow the same ilvl scheme that this season did. Honor at the top of heroic ilvl and conquest at basically max ilvl for the patch, 13 ilvls ahead of honor gear. We will also have tier from the vault and catalyst again, that isn’t changing either. Conquest will go back to being capped from week to week until they uncap it again, too.

For me to convert any crafted piece into a PvP piece will be a game changer, and open up classes into a whole new realm of customization. Not to mention the wonders it will do for the in-game economy. This is great news.

This was a great change, currently it works the same way with higher ilvl PVE crafted pieces (arguably BIS). We do take a minor stat loss though, more access for everyone opens up doors.

how does it open doors? and how does it give more access?

Currently to create the 418s 2400? and M16+ is required for crafting material.
With upcoming season, everyone can create a strong (top quality) PVP piece(s) of select gear.
Lariat neck is taking a nerf it seems to coincide with this, as an example.
