people intentionally throw games just to get honor to complete the quest faster. would love it if it was changed to be wins instead of straight out participation rewards for just playing

You don’t get honor faster by losing. Making a change like this would F over everyone who either gets unlucky and can’t win, or gets queued against premades. It’s fine the way it is.

welfare honor starts while leveling. a person can have no gear,play zero objectives, basically be afk all game and still receive honor and experience. yes you get more from wins but that’s not what we’re talking about is it? we’re talking about complacent entitled VETERAN players mooching their way to 80 so why is it such a big surprise to see the results in bgs?
I highly doubt anyone is throwing games because of this quest. You get way more honor way faster by winning. What is far more likely, and what I see happen nearly every other game, is that after the first big fight one side clearly gets stomped and it’s immediately obvious to everyone that side is going to lose the bg. They aren’t “throwing” the game, they were going to lose anyways. I’m just speaking from experience, but only around 10% of bgs i do are actual balanced fights.
This makes no sense. Grinding honor while leveling is a massive waste of time if your goal is to get honor. Just level the fast ways and then transfer honor from one of your mains. Much much faster.
When you stop trying well before the game is even at half-score, you are indeed throwing.
The type of people prone to doing that behavior are more likely to be in queue when the quest is up, because that quest is their sole motivation for queueing the bracket, and it’s finished eventually by just queueing up. You see the same thing in epics when the honor quest is up for them.
It’s the double-edged sword of incentivizing people to queue for something they don’t actively enjoy playing.
people rushing to 80 is another problem i wont derail this thread with my take but i enjoy pvp so ill do it while leveling and at 80.
Play how you want I’m not saying you shouldn’t PvP at all while leveling. But complaining about quitters just wanting quick honor makes no sense in any bracket other than max level because grinding honor is very slow while leveling

Theres a difference in my humble opinion of throwing in the towel when you cant get more than a few steps from your own graveyard and giving up at the first failed team fight. The former just makes sence, you tried to make your way to an objective, any objective, 4 or more times and get squashed immediately after rez, so yeah, afk, go walk the dog, I wont think any less of you. When someone afks, leaves early, or tells others to give up at the first sign of opposition, thats bad and basically gameplay sabotage.
