I have a better idea. Convert all the existing tcg mounts not available on the black market into grey items. Make the Feldrake from twitch account bound that’s learned as soon as you claim it. Then, disable all old tcg cards. That way people with actual mounts are the only ones not being affected by this. Let the rats find a new way to hoard gold.
Twitch drop for Feldrake is a good idea and more TCG items need to be like this.
this is just so spiteful that I love it lol
I don’t see this as a good compromise because I don’t play WoW Classic. I’ve already done classic content once, why do it again when its rewards don’t transfer to retail? Um. No.
Uh. Why should retail “OG’s” have exclusivity on a mount that never dropped in-game? That’s an absurdist argument. It has nothing to do with “retail”, you may as well say “wallet OG’s”. And if something was never available in classic, then why should it be now? Keep classics rewards classic.
Boo Hoo. Cry me a river.
Why are they entitled to something in the first place? I have the Dragon Kite. I won’t be getting anything if I watch the stream during that period. Who cares? I happen to have the Swift Spectral Tiger and If Blizz decides to put it up as a Streamer drop, I wouldn’t be bothered that much, as long as they gave a nod to its relative value. “View a streamer playing WoW for 100 hours” or somesuch.
For me, I’d rather see more people match me mount for mount when we’re waiting for those world bosses to spawn. “Exclusivity” is just another way of saying “I have mine, But you can’t have one!” or “My copy of this mount means something, yours doesn’t.” It’s false elitism.
Sometimes I feel that I’m playing with a bunch of kids
I will never get the mount because I don’t follow some streamers like a sheep, and I’m against twitch drops completely. I like the idea stuff being rewarded like they added prime gaming stuff, but again fomo rewards should completely be gone from the game. Add it to the store for real money and everyone will be happy
Yeah yeah in your mind players are only allowed to feel a sense of elitism if they have 30,000+ achievement points and rare 0.01% drop transmog pieces like you talked about in another thread. You don’t believe people should feel good owning a TCG mount because it came from children’s trading cards and those cost real money.
“It’s false elitism.” as opposed to “Real elitism I earned” Grow up, cry me a river.
It’s True, I do have 30,000+ achievement points and rare 0.01% drop transmog pieces. I’ve spent a lot of time in the game earning those. I take pride in being a collector and completionist, but I don’t think that’s the same as shamelessly bragging about what I have.
Your reasoning is kind of circular. “Since I have a lot of things, I must be elitist. And since I’m elitist, I must not want anyone else to have a lot of things.”
You totally missed my point, which is: “You should get game rewards by playing the game.”
“Real elitism I earned”? Well… I did earn what I have. If you think that makes me “elite” then thank you? I guess?
I don’t personally care about the Fel Drake, but I do hope they make the Festering Emerald Drake obtainable by some means on retail. Isn’t that a new mount that doesn’t exist anywhere else? Seems a little odd to lock that to Classic (yes I know you could argue ‘well there’s a lot of mounts Classic players can’t get’) but that’s self-explanatory.
Don’t worry. I have virtually no doubt it will be in the Dragonflight expansion. Blizzard does this thing where they give the lesser child a shiny new toy if they pay $100 for it but it’s only because they’ll have it for free for their favorite one.
It or something like it’ll probably be in a Dragonflight achievement, a Dragonflight boss drop, somewhere it’ll be there. They’re not gonna shoehorn in a “new” drake model as a mount and then say it’s only for an annual pass and is forever Classic only. I’ve seen them do this kind of thing before.
I’m calling it right now, Classic players will complain about us getting it for free but they had to pay $100 for theirs.
Making the fel drake available is stupid, mostly because it feels like a targeted jab at TCG mount owners. They obviously made 4 brand new mounts for the 12-month sub bonus, but they have to reuse one of the rarest mounts for an afk twitch drop?
A very select few people grinded out a ton of gold or forked over money for an extremely rare mount, not many people are going to stand up for them. This game has been a part of peoples lives for nearly 2 decades now, just let exclusive and rare things remain that way. Some guy with a fel drake might have been really proud of it before this.
You are not entitled to digital goods where you agreed in the EULA to forgo your claiming rights.
You will accept everything Blizzard throws in your way. We don’t own anything in this game but some numeric data, and even this belongs to the WoW-team.
Hey Blizzard, if you’re reading this, I will give you money to add the Emerald mount from Classic to Retail. I love emerald dream stuff and will not be playing classic within my lifetime, but I will buy it if it comes to retail.
I got the tabard of flame and some of the consumables. When the tabard bonus hit for classic it was like “YES! I can get it for all my characters!”.
Do I care that I bought hundreds of cards for the one I have on retail and everybody can get it now? No. Someone else getting something I have just means we can both enjoy it.
PS. Even if you spend $100,000 on something in game you still don’t own it and at any time blizz could poof it out of existence. ![]()
Still have one unlearned on a random alt. Had a credit card issue and lost the mount. Still had D3, still subbed, but unflagged for learning the pony.
No, and how about no again times 50. I am tired of this community sometimes YOU ALL and I mean you ALL want to call blizzard evil demons who drink from the pot of greed when they ADD A $25 STORE MOUNT but want to defend people who set the market at INSANE prices for $3500 for a piece of cardboard (if you even get the card) and some pixels. Nah, nope, negative.
Blizzard is taken control of a market that is so bloated and insanely full of over priced items by this community and I say GOOD ON THEM. People who legit got this card night be the most ‘affected’ but if they played the TCG and got this pull 15 years ago? 16? whatever it was let it go.
And the people who spent “millions” of gold or real dollars on this? YOUR OWN fault for spending that much on something that in the end has NO value really. Yeah, your money, do what you want with it but don’t hate blizzard because they are taken control of this nutso market and you had NO issues buying a $3500 item off ebay but rant complain and cry over a $25 store mount drop.
Yall some sad folks, so to answer in sum: No to your request, I don’t even care about the mount, but let this chapter be done and move on: To the spectral tiger mount next.
This is such a sad way to direct your thoughts. Enjoying the idea of bothering others because you felt screwed over in some way really says a lot about the kind of person you are.
Why? That’s like feeling bad for someone that spent hundreds/thousands of dollars on a Beanie Baby. Well, at least you can hold a BB in your hand. The fel drake is lights on your computer screen.
This is the chance you take when you buy pixels. It’s not real and the value can change at the drop of a hat.
I think we should be happy that Blizzard is giving away rewards that came from a physical loot box that was created by an outside company.
They spent hundreds/thousands and they don’t even own it. ![]()
Agreed. Living like that would suck. Not even sure if I could call that living… it would just be being alive.
If there ever came a time that an item in a game made me feel special, and spite was my motivation for getting another mount, that is about the time I completely reevaluate my life.
I feel same way on another game I played for years they do this regular thing of adding stuff every week with some of it becoming “rare” as in never allowed to be gained again.
On there I have plenty of stuff that will never return but if they did just for players to have another chance I’d say go ahead.
People that don’t want this only say so because they want to brag how hard they worked to get this special thing that is no longer around.
Thing is they can still brag just instead of saying “You can’t get it anymore” they can say “I worked for it and you didn’t”. Which is exactly what some will do after these drops happen.
Have played many games where I sank A LOT of money into items. Every time someone brought up a deal or event where people got those items years later and asked my opinion I gave the same answer (not always the same exact wording):
Don’t care. It just means we both have it now. Nothing should ever be removed from a game. Let everyone get everything if they put in the time.
There’s millions of players, hundreds of millions of accounts made, there are quite a few copies of everything we think is “rare”. A 71 hemi cuda convertible is rare. Pixels really aren’t. You can get any of the “multimillion dollar” NFTs with a save-as and blizz can bring almost every “rare” item back with a click.
