Change Sniper Shot to a Stance!

For the upcoming pvp talent changes, please throw us a bone as MM here for a talent.

Sniper Shot would be great and all, but its huge focus cost, low damage, long cast, and the like make it hard to use. The further problem is, it prevents us from getting a big hit with AiS in since its a damage shot.

So why not make it a stance? A stance, pinning you to the ground until cancelled, but increasing your range, like a sniper. this would like MM's post up in battlegrounds as well as world in order to lock down locations and punish targets moving through.
A) Sniper Shot is quite different on the PTR than live. The problems you have listed are no longer problems. It now has a DIFFERENT problem, but it is still better.

B) Your proposed solution sounds an awful lot like WoD mastery, which I thought was the best mastery for MM to date (though that is not a consensus opinion). An incentive to stand still, with the ability to retain full mobility is a fantastic MM class design. That design was a part of the game for many years in one form or another. A return to that in any form would be great.
I truly miss WoD Mastery.

People whined about it not being good in 2's and 3's back then, which made no sense..

WoD MM was great for Rated BGs and annihilating FCs. I do hope we see a bit of that return as well.
Also looked into the changes on PTR

While the big hit is great, having the range increase dropped to 6 seconds is abysmal. might as well remove the effect considering how much time it takes for us to cast :O

Yes, this is the "different problem" I mentioned. It is quite jarring going from in range to OOR every 6 seconds without options but to move closer, which negates the purpose.

Nevertheless, with the reduction in the specs dependence on Aimed Shot and a reduction in its opener damage potential, Sniper Shot is now a perfectly viable (and quite nice) opener. It just fails miserably as a range extender.

It's changes like this that convince me the people who make changes to the class don't actually play the classes they design. Unfortunately there have been MANY changes like this since Legion alpha.

You have to wonder if that isn't internal policy, to avoid "conflicts of interest" or some PC bullsh*t that is nonsensical in every way. Another way of doing it is to have people passionate about the class design the class, and then have an oversight committee to make sure they are properly tuned. I know they did that in the past, at least for Warlock (I miss Xelnath!).

Of course that only works if the oversight committee isn't a monarchy ruled by a double-talking PR lawyer (not naming any names) (I miss Ghostcrawler!).
