Change School of Hard Knocks!

It’s that time of year with Children’s Week on the horizon (a PvE world event) and its a week where PvP’ers complain about how those with 0 PvP experience ruining the battlegrounds, and those who have all of the World Event achievements completed except School of Hard Knocks completed preventing them from their meta achievement.

So I suggest Blizzard do one of the following to make everyone happy:

  1. Detach School of Hard Knocks from the Meta Achievement so you no longer need.

  2. Change it to requiring a battleground win of each of those battlegrounds with your orphan out (this will especially make the achievement more achievable for Alterac Valley and Eye of the Storm).

I don’t see an issue with school of hard knocks.

Yep it sure is. The time of year every WoW forum veteran looks forward to.

If I remember right, isn’t that the achievement basically counterproductive to actually playing the matches as intended because you have to fight against your own team to try to be the one to get achievement credit for it, while the people there for PVP get frustrated because the achievement hunters don’t really care about the match?

I remember the only reason why I got it in Eye of the Storm was because I think I was the only person on both teams to even attempt to guard a tower. The one PVPer in the group managed to nab the flag (to everyone’s anger) and he dropped it in front of me to take. I remember being super grateful to him because of that.

Yes, pretty much ruins fun for everyone.

Eye of the Storm part is to get the flag while the orphan is out.

Oh the tears will be enough to sustain me for a while.

I’m glad I did that years ago…when feral of all specs was OP in pvp. Easy game.

pulls out purple proto drake, buffs achievement slices some cheese and waits for the Whine festival another glorious year of salty tears of I can’t do it…

JUST DO IT…

There is a reason its called School of Hard Knocks.

Never thought I’d get it…but did…years ago. It’s possible…just work at it.

Good luck to all working towards the meta!

Yes… because I just so want to spend 40+ hours straight on my mage In AV or Eye of the Storm and I only have Saturday and Sunday to do it. :face_with_head_bandage:

I mean trying to cap a flag in AV is just a nightmare that week where 39 other players are going for it. Also Eye of the Storm… you forget that neural slicer? Because Priests will purposefully grief people trying to cap it by Leap of Faith so their buddy can cap it instead for achievo.

I got mine back in 2010.

Always seemed like a strange achievement in the game, bringing a child into a battlground slaughter, I guess the kid gets slaughtered with you when you die as well.

I’m just saying, PvP’ers hate this week because they get matched with crappy teams in randoms and flock to the forums and complain in mass about how it ruins their day to day play for a week. PvE’ers complain how awful it is trying to get seeng as Holiday Achievos for Meta Achievements are PvE content except this one.

The usual conclusion the forums come to each year is Blizz to please either remove it from the Meta Achievement or change it so you just need to win 1 match from each of the BG’s with an Orphan out (Win 1 AV, 1 AB, 1 EotS, and 1 WSG).

Do that and people will be alot happier.

has this achievement been removed yet?

does this not go against all the new Blizzard policies coming out?

It took me years, too. Finally got it on my Horde main, midway through WoD. IIRC, the sticking point for me was Alterac Valley.

Please remove this achieve from the meta, or make it so you only have to do 1 of the activities. All 4 is overkill and extremely painful for non-pvpers. This meta will remain undone for me until it is changed.
