The amount of times this skill gets sniped by people’s instant self heals is too damn high. Change this to have the healing and cooldowns reduction scales based on missing health instead of the 35% threshold to be more consistent.
I would rather it just be a talent that read:
“If you heal a player below 35% health, you also heal that target for 600% spellpower. This effect can only occur once every 15s”
Prevents the snipes, gives it a slightly higher CD because it doesn’t use a global, and removes an extra button for the button bloat.
And, you know, PW:L is really, really difficult to use on the base client. Most people are just using a weakaura to let them know when people drop that low, so it’s hardly an expression of skill to use.
Id accept off the gcds but I don’t think blizz is fond of that for things that heal or dmg really.
This is the correct fix.
Maybe it’s a self-report, but I’m strongly considering Benevolence in M+ come the next patch simply because of all the times I throw out PW:L on somebody only for them to hit their panic heal or slam a potion 1/10 of a second before my cast lands.
Yeah I’ve gone back n forth between pwl and just freeing up the point for mind games or whatever ever else but usually was worth it to stick with pwl.
I might do bene as well but losing the only real reactive heal we get as disc would be slightly rough.
If it couldn’t be punished by others panick healing as much I’d be perfectly fine with it.
Having a gradual increase based on missing health works out perfectly for WoG and resto shaman. I don’t think a 10s CD, heal up to 500-600% more based on missing health is unreasonable.
Make PW:L heal more based on the target’s missing health and make it apply atonement for disc and reduce the cooldown of Holys power words as if Heal had been casted for holy.
PWL is just a redundant ability for Holy.
It literally can just be a passive where if somebody drops <35% hp you get a free Serenity cast for 3-5s w/ 15s cooldown and it doesn’t count towards Holy Word Salvations.
Idk I think it’s fine for the most part…
I agree that it feels like you kind of need the weakaura or some sort of special functionality on your frames to help you see who’s actually in range so that part is indeed not great.
But with the proper WA set I think it works pretty well, I mean I do get sniped sometimes and it’s pretty annoying when that happens but at least I don’t find that happening often enough to really feel like speccing off from it considering how great of a tool it is.
It does make me like DK and DH tanks a bit less though since they are the primary offenders for sniping my PW:Life cast and send it to a 30s CD, maybe it could just be a bit less punishing on the increased CD if it gets sniped.
At least for Disc that is… For Holy I guess it’s a bit more redundant with the Kit but I still think it’s worth taking over the current alternatives.
Power Word: Life would feel a lot better if it was taken off the GCD. The spell feels amazing when it works, and punishing when it doesn’t- but the punishing part happens a little too often because spell queing lags behind even with an adequate reaction time.
Another solution would be to allow a short grace period in the spell- so that as long as PW:L is used on a target in a 1 to 2 second timeframe since it dropped below 35%, the 300% healing increase would still apply.
I’d rather have Cascade instead.
A lot of good suggestions. Probably the easiest thing for them to do is simply make it a 10s CD anyway. It already feels bad to heal someone who snipes you with it, no need to also put it on a 30s CD.
I use Grid and make the frame light up red when someone drops to 28% or under (instead of 35%). It gets sniped less often that way, especially if they already have a hot applied.
keep it as is, its the best heal in the game for afflicted
Should just change the condition to 40-50% health for more ease of use, otherwise it’s fine.
