Change of Policy and Restore this mans items!

At least Blizz takes the items and gold from the scammer, in POE scamming is allowed, be glad we dont have that system yet.

Hey, this happened to me. I originally posted from an alt in my retail account to kinda keep my identity out of the post, but I guess thats out of the picture now. Only reason i did that was because I originally made a post on reddit was removed because it included my name and the scammers name in it, and I didn’t want my wow forums post to be removed because of that. Wasn’t taking a chance.

Thank you, and in my original post, i stand by my comment of “Removing the items from the scammer takes the same amount of time/effort as it does to restore them to the original owner with absolutely zero impact to the economy of the server at all. There’s no reason to simply just remove scammed items.”

I LOL’ed IRL.

For some reason I flashed back to that scene in Weird Science where she goes “Just for that I ought to give you a set of elephant balls.” LOL

Lol oh please stop the AV threads.

realrandy is my classic character, i swapped back here since that character is too new to post multiple replies… however i wanted to say:

So, i’m the person this happened to(RealRandy Alliance on Heartseeker).

I would like to point a couple things here. The person who scammed me was [Removed] on heartseeker, they made a second account and confirmed in world and even in discord they were banned.

My guild paid for my LHH now, which I hated that they did, but they refused to let me not take the materials. Regardless i still would like my materials back so give back to my guild.

I stand by comment of “Removing the items from the scammer takes the same amount of time/effort as it does to restore them to the original owner with absolutely zero impact to the economy of the server at all. There’s no reason to simply just remove scammed items.” in my original post

My original post was made under the character of an alt i have in retail, to hide my identity because at the time of the post I had a reddit post removed by a modderator in classicwow that I think is also a blizzard GM, because it included my name, my server, and the scammers name, so i didn’t want to take any chances of my original post being removed.

Yup, i keep getting the loop around. I truly believe this service should be done, I truly believe this policy should be removed. this person has scammed apparently multiple people from gold and other LHH materials, and I couldn’t imagine the other people who are scamming other people out of their materials as well, its not right.

Blizzard GM/CS has been amazing in original vanilla, BC, and even WOTLK. After then, i’ve had nothing but negative experiences, and truly the game suffers from that.

Moderator Note: Naming and shaming is not allowed on the World of Warcraft forums.

Yeah that kind of sets my BS alert off too. First this is a post by a character with only 2 forums post, is a link to another post, so it is not first hand knowledge and the fact that they are claiming Blizzard told them they banned the other player all throw up some red flags.

This seems like a BS post to try and start some forum drama.

I’m just gonna clear this up a bit. Real randy is my main in classic this character is just a rando on my retail account. I posted originally to avoid getting publicity to my main in classic but it was posted earlier my name and server, I’m still using this character because realrandy is too new to make multiple comment replies on wow forums.

So yes, he is banned from the account he scammed me on. I know this from a conversation I had with him on discord but he posted “ well I guess you guys got what you wanted, I am now banned”. Followed with him making a second account, and posting on the world chat on our server his account got banned. I didn’t think I needed to post how I got that Information, which was directly from the scammer. I have no reason to post lies and rumors to this situation.

This is starting to sound more like BS because you are now contradicting yourself.

First you say…

Now you say…

So which is it, Blizzard told you or the player told you. Sounds fishy to me.

Yep Agreed, give this man his items. If blizz can give assmaldgold his pre BC event gear they can give this guys mats back.

I see you’ve decided to double down on breaking the forum rules by naming and shaming the dude. No sympathy for you, even on the off chance you are telling the truth.

There is no point in scam other player, you will bet banned and the gains will be deleted.

But if you deal with a rare case of a ignorant about this or someone who just want to see the world burn, it’s your loss.

You give away your mats in hope of an honest trade, but in the end, its up the person who you trusted if he want to harm you both or not.

Riecheck is not me at all. He is a separate person

Riecheck is the one who originally posted my name and the scammers name, I made the post without mentioning any names until he did. Riecheck is not me, I am the person who was scammed and the original post was made on this alt to hide originally my identity but I came out in a previous comment that stated since someone else opened the can of worms I then commented my name and the persons name yes, but I didn’t originally.

The OG post I made in a different thread even copy pasted the original gm response which they did say they took necessary steps against this person and removed the items that was traded. The person who scammed me confirmed on another account and on the server discord they were banned.

I’m not sure why you feel the need to think I’m not telling the truth. Do I need to send you all my screenshots to prove a point? I didn’t make this post to change the policy of scammed items. I made a post originally to publically announce on forums to hope I get a gm to give me some truth to the situation if I can or cannot get my items back.

This post was made by another user who also believes I should get my items back and they felt the need to try to help in this direction

Sounds fishy, it’s against blizzard policy to tell you what sanctions were made on the offenders account.

Still hope that if true the ninjaed items are returned.

It is beyond disappointing blizzard will ban someone no problem but wont take the extra 20 seconds to transfer his items back. There is no excuse no matter how you look at it.

Yeah. That made it okay.

I’m beginning to understand how this could happen to you.

Onyxia bugged on me. She turned to a dragon and just sat there looking at us. At a certain point the boy prince who runs off ran back. But Nothing. You could even go talk to her and she just glared at you. I put a ticket in and my ETA was well OVER 24 hours.

A couple weeks ago, my raid leader F’ed up and had someone who was locked start the DM buff group, and turned that group into the main raid afterword. Even though the locked guy was kicked while we were grouping up at kargath we still managed to get locked. After a 12 hour response time they said no, because we cleared the respawning trash. Sounds more to me that they just didnt want to have to reset 40 different lockouts.
