Change name of Metamorphosis, give old one back to Locks

I really miss Metamorphosis for Demo warlocks. So what I wish Blizzard would do is give it back to Demo Locks, and just change the name of the DH ability.

I honestly have no idea why they didn’t do this in Legion when DHs first came out. Think about it. Both abilities are COMPLETELY different than each other.

A Lock Meta turns you into an even stronger spell caster for 30 seconds with a 3 minute CD.

A DH Meta makes you either a stronger melee DPS for 30 seconds with a 4 minute CD, or a better Tank for 15 seconds with a 3 minute CD.

They all 3 have different models, abilities, and animations. Literally the only same thing is the name.

You could even recall the DH ability to Demon Soul. Not only does that make sense lore wise, because DHs ALREADY eat demon souls to heal themselves.

But it would also allow Locks to keep their old Meta ability. And in PVP, these abilities would also function completely differently.

And to the people complaining about how Meta was always a DH ability from the start, let me remind you, Illidan only got Meta because he consumed the skull of a WARLOCK.

Warlocks that study demons forever should absolutely be able to temporarily turn into demons, but still be spell casters. Just like DHs should be able to eat demon souls and become one, temporarily, but still be a Melee DPS or Tank.

You could even call Immolation Aura different abilities too. Immolation Aura would go to Locks, ONLY in Meta form.

And DHs would get an ability called Hell Aura, or maybe Infernal Aura or something. I just feel like purging an ability that was given to Demo Locks, that they kept for at least 3 expansions, to give to another class, is really messed up.

Blizzard always has this weird mentality that if they’re going to make some class stronger, other classes have to suffer for it. Balancing a game isn’t taking away a class ability to give to another.

And again, in Legion, ALL they had to do was give DHs the same ability under a DIFFERENT NAME, and Locks could’ve kept Meta.

Demo should turn into the Demonic Tyrant as their meta instead of summoning one.

Granted
you got a metamorphosis

but you dont turn into a shadowy illidan.
Ya turn into an imp with a knife!

Good one, lol.

Yeah I agree. Dumb that they removed it in the first place instead of just renaming the DH one to something else or whatever.

Not joking, lol…

I would like a DH where 100% metamorphosis was not mandatory. Get rid of the demonic talent.

That would actually be a good replacement if, turning into a Tyrant granted you new abilities during the transformation. Maybe like a better form of Demonic Empowerment.

So instead of you casting a spell and your demons dealing more damage, maybe you could have a spell like Tyrant Strike, where you cast for 2 seconds, then you strike your enemy, all your imps and other demons charge the target dealing damage on top of that, and then they hit 10% harder against that target for a few seconds.

And more Tyrant abilities on top of that. You could even use the Tyrant animations that already exist for those temporary form abilities.

I like this idea. I would also gladly settle for getting Life Tap back if we don’t get meta back.

Yeah, the thing about old Lock Meta was it was ONLY up for 30 seconds, and if was fun and powerful. With DPS DH, and that talent, you’re basically in Demon Form 24/7 so its way less special.

Some people could use the argument, “Well don’t use that talent”, but that’s a weak argument when you consider the other 2 talents on that row are either not as strong, or a HUGE dps loss that isn’t as fun to use.

All talents on each row should be strong in their own right, and fun to use. If only one talent per each row is the only one raiders or players ever pick, then obviously all the other talents are boring, and that’s a problem.

We also got loads of different demons to meta into. Like an Inquisitor if we’re just lobbing spells at things.

Like there could be an attack where you rally your demons, and all make them charge one target at once.

Another ability would be where you cast a really slow spell, but then your enemy explodes, summoning even more imps from the explosion, per enemy hit. And while you’re in Tyrant form, there’s no limit on the Wild Imps you could summon.

And then the third ability could be where you consume all the imps all at once, and in return you summon a Demon of matching strength, compared to how many of them you used up.

1 to 5 imps, you get an Infernal.

6 to 10 imps, you get a Doomguard.

More than 10 imps, you get a Dreadlord.

Or maybe just make it to where you consume AT LEAST 5 imps to summon just the Dreadlord, but per imp after 5, the damage of the Dreadlord increases by 2%. That’d be really cool.

I hate how, before BFA came out, one of Affliction Lock’s final talents was Summon Dreadlord, and when BFA came out, they switched it to that stupid Darkglare demon that almost no one likes.

But yeah I REALLY miss Lifetap, I also miss Hellfire, Soulfire, and ALL locks having Doomguards and Infernals on their OWN cooldown. They didn’t share a cooldown with each other, and they weren’t tied to spec.

Also, please bring back the option to have one as a permanent pet. Even if it wasn’t a dps increase, it WAS FUN. Isn’t that the point of a video game? All specs having multiple playstyles and being fun?
