Change my mind: RNG controlling APM isn't fun

So one of the main issues I’ve had with Enhancement since its change is that while Stormstrike reset overly directed BfA Enhance’s damage output, it seems to have just as large an APM impact on Shadowlands Enhance, as rather hitting lower value spenders when unlucky, I have… nothing at all to hit.

That’s not to say this issue isn’t mitigated over time and with certain builds, of course, but I think that’s a bit besides the point, so I ask you:

Enhance veterans, in your opinion, is it good design to have APM or playflow be noticeably dependent upon RNG?

  • (For the purposes of this discussion let similarities in this regard across other specs, such as Feral, Assassination, Subtlety, Beast Mastery, Fire, or whatnot, face the same question rather than having the others necessarily excuse it if you’re not a fan of that general quirk of design. They’re still great means by which to draw a line in the sand as to your personal preferences, though!)

Worked better when it was on Lava Lash in MoP/WoD and not one of the highest priority skills, but it’s fine.

Stormbringer’s pretty garbage but it’s a far cry from Legion/BFA and there’s not that much dead time even with bad RNG.

I hear what you’re saying. I think it plays fine.

One thing I’d add though is the old stormstrike debuff. That way SS is still doing something for you even when its on cd.

The old debuff was like 5% crit or +elemental damage vs that target or something right?
