So ive been seeing alot of players, both wow and ff14. What i want to know is how is one better than the other?
Let me start…
WoW started in 2004. Has more history behind it to date (2022).
FF14 started 2010, ended shortly after, then started back 3 years later (2013).
Name a good game mechianic that out does the other.
Both are unique in there own ways. I find the RP and the Story in FFXIV more better, but I find some of the gameplay in WoW a lot more better too. But between WoW and FFXIV, FFXIV is better than WoW to some extent though.
I have over 3000 hours each in WoW, FFXIV, ESO & Lost Ark. All are very good in their own right. WoW has best raiding, FFXIV has best crafting, Lost Ark has best casual content, ESO has best solo development of your character.
And BDO has god tier customization.

It is not bad, it does have a lot of downsides to it, but the combat and the customizations are amazing.
one has good story and bad combat - one has good combat and bad stories.
if you know what you like its easy to figure out which one is better for you.
im a cutscene skipper and lore-ignorer so the answer is simple
one makes a better game one makes a better visual novel.
I love both WoW and FF14. Both have things they excel in that the other doesn’t.
Things I love in FF14:
Gold Saucer
Main Story
The cities and how they feel like actual cities. No giant mounts running everywhere.
Chocobos and Chocobo Barding
Crafting and Gathering focused reputations
No trash in raids
The detail in all of the armor. The different outfits. So pretty.
Things I love in WoW:
Gameplay, obviously. So smooth.
Zones. The variety, the scale, and (for the most part) seamless travel with minimal load screens
The collections and transmog interface (I would LOVE this in FF14)
Variety of raids and dungeons that available.
Zones are added post-launch in patches. This isn’t a thing in FF14
