Change Heirlooms to Warbound without Soulbinding

With the addition of Warbands, Heirloom gear is now Warband Bound UNTIL EQUIPPED, making the heirloom SOULBOUND to the character they are equipped on.

I have a lot of non-heirloom account wide gear as well, examples being Headdress of the First Shaman, Mantid Sky Reaver, Nifflevar Bearded Axe, but they’re all Warbound marked and cannot be Soulbound, soooo, what’s the deal here? I know leveling doesn’t require enchants or gems on the heirlooms, but I’ve had these enchanted and gemmed for YEARS, and for YEARS I’ve been able to freely transfer them between characters, and now they’re all stuck on a level 1 bank toon that I have no plans on leveling.

I don’t care that we had Timerunning to level enough chars to hit the max char limit, it makes no sense that Heirlooms are Warbound until Equipped instead of just Warbound.

It feels weird that this even happened in the first place.

I don’t know if this is just an oversight or what, but I can’t imagine keeping them bound to battle net account was a huge deal.

Thanks for your feedback on Heirlooms! We originally planned to convert heirlooms to be Warbound until equipped to keep gear consistently using the new bind type. Upon further consideration, we’d like to continue to support the playstyle of setting up heirlooms with enchants and gems, then passing them to alts as needed. Given the 11.0.0 patch is today, we can’t easily fix this in the current patch, but it will be changed back in the upcoming 11.0.2 patch.

While unfortunately your gear will become bound if you enchant/equip until the next patch, once it comes out, your heirloom gear will revert to Warbound, allowing you to again pass it between alts after equipping / enchanting it. We apologize for the temporary inconvenience and again, thank you so much for the feedback.
