Change Heirlooms so gear matters when leveling

So I am leveling a Kul tiras druid which is super fun buuuuut, I always hated the fact that no gear is better than the heirloom gear while leveling up. The stats are almost always better and if that’s not the case then the 10% xp boost will always trump regular gear.
It really makes dungeons quests etc just feel like vendor farms rather than content.

Ok so my solution…could it be possible to just have the heirlooms work like toys that you could toggle on and off for the xp boost, then the gear you get from dungeons and quests could mean something a little bit.

I just want a bit more interaction in that aspect of playing

thoughts?

Thats against the entire point of heirlooms.

they’ve already nerfed the heck out of heirlooms because of thoughts like this. if you want to get upgrades all the time and not use looms, then don’t use them. but don’t ruin them even more for people who enjoy them. they’re not a requirement.

I wouldn’t be opposed to an alternate XP bonus (eg. you can have the buff from heirlooms or the toy but not both) but I love that I don’t really have to worry about upgrading gear when I’ve got heirlooms. Struggling to kill something because you haven’t gotten a good drop in a while get old pretty quick.

Don’t…

use your heirlooms???

Like if it’s to the point you care about gear you get while leveling, why are you trying to speed through leveling

Heres a neat exploit you can use: unequip your heirlooms and use normal gear.

well it seems everyone’s solution is “HAHA THEN DON’T USE YOUR HEIRLOOMS”

The point is that no one is going to sacrifice an almost 100% xp boost to be able to use some of the gear they get while leveling.

My point is it would be nice to have the xp boost while like I dont know… using any of the items you pick up in a dungeon?

If you’re wanting 100% xp while leveling why do you care what gear you get

You won’t even get any use out of it before it’s replaced

the leveling is not that fast lol you would def use some of it specially in the 60+ range

the point of off heirloom pieces while leveling is new mog. they server a purpose.

That’s true, but I don’t think that’s what any of the posts are referring to

if you want to level as quickly as possible then why do your upgrades during that matter? if i was so concerned about wearing some random green chest piece i got from a quest i wouldn’t be using my looms.

I get that but there is a lot of complaints about like all of leveling being pointless and just grinding through…so I am just thinking of ways to spice that up a bit without slowing down the entire process

What about exp toys that boost depending on how many max levels you have? I only want the exp, I dont care about the stats. :X

have you played classic at all? THAT is grinding. literally. 3/4 of a zone is grinding to get to a higher level so you can do the other few quests there. there is almost no grind in retail leveling. people just want to rush to endgame and don’t want to enjoy their leveling. i mostly use my heirlooms so i don’t have to replace some of my gear while leveling.

Isn’t upgrades only minor now anyway due to the ilvl squishes? Like… a 33 chest piece and a 34 chest piece, isn’t the stat difference like 1 primary 1 stam 1 secondary or something?

That’s a problem but that isn’t the way to go about it

The source of the problem is War Mode fracturing, quests lacking any depth or thought, and Dungeon Queues providing more than enough XP and gear to ignore questing entirely even after nerfs

Mixing up the gear needed isn’t gonna fix things, sadly

True I agree with you with that I wasn’t under the assumption that I had the quick fix to leveling just thinking of a small thing that would spice it up for me I guess.

but you do bring up a good point there are a lot of bigger issues that should be fixed first

No, if anything they should buff heirlooms back to how they used to be.
