Champion of the Light stack drop

How the bloody hell do you drop stacks on this fight? I had zero issues running around the outside of the room on this fight last week, but this week for some reason I can’t seem to drop it and we ended up having to have a melee taunt her.

Advice? Because we really don’t want to three tank this.

our guild had trouble with this last night too. our pally tank was unable to drop the stacks and we ended up having a our 2 hunters double taunt it. So id be interested to know what the fix is lol. I guess normal heroic setup is 3 tanking it

At some point in the fight you should have an opportunity for the add tank to pick up the boss and the boss tank to grab the next set of adds. The highest our stacks were at on our mythic kill were 15 before we swapped.

3 tanks are not required (or even used) for normal/heroic/mythic.

im just going off what my old raid lead said (we switched raid leads this tier… it has been a real bad go) on the 3 tanking it. I don’t know why but my raid refuses to have the 2 tanks swap like that. I thought it would be easiest way too. instead we had 3 tanks and after 8 attempts we downed it. we one shot the next 2 bosses though… so I guess theres that

Whatever makes it easier for your group :woman_shrugging:

The reason it’s harder this week is because the Sacred Blade debuff was hotfixed to last 15 seconds now instead of the 10 it did when the raid opened. That said, it’s still possible to kite with Transcendence, but it requires a seal change to give you time to get enough distance before using Transcendence: Transfer to move the boss back into place.

Failing that, just have the add tank run in to take the boss at some point and use Dave to pick up the adds during the switch.

I had t odie to drop stacsk cause we did the burn strat. Just had a SS on my and got up ASAP. it sucked but ya.

whats the burn strat if you don’t mind me asking? my guilds dps is our strongest trait. mostly because our new lead seems to think its ok to have brand new players heal and tank (even though we have vets that said they would tank and heal). so I think we prob could do a burn strat

take the adds off to the side and nuke the boss. He dies super fast.

so just burn thru is aura that buffs him when you hit him, and have the tanks swap who is controlling the adds to drop the debuff? seems simple. isn’t he buffed if you hit him during the switch to add phase?

The idea is kill it before the seal changes again and new adds come out I think.

Increase in debuff length explains a lot. We might have to tank swap if we can’t just burn her then.
