Challenge my extreme class prejudice

I need to be honest about something I am full of prejudice against certain classes.

I think elemental shamans are bad, feral druids are bad, ret pallies are mediocre, survival hunters aren’t that great, fire mages should just go frost or arcane, I also think that unholy death knights aren’t that great either.

I also think that Frost DK’s should get first preference in raids, demon hunter tanks are the best tanks above all others, that five hunters in a raid are better than two fire mages and three enhancement shamans, and that assassination is the correct spec for a rogue that wants to raid. I also think shadow priests get a free pass for being bad dps as they are shadow priests so they have an excuse.

I also think at this point, demonology is so useless for warlocks, with the voidwalker and all, you may as well make it a tanking spec the next expansion.

Please challenge me and tell me while all my thoughts are completely wrong.

That’s an alarming number of prejudices. I’m afraid there may be no way anyone can help you.

Well I know Blizzard say that some of the specs I mentioned are actually very viable, that it’s more of a community perception thing, so where has this extreme prejudice I have to all these class specs come from?

Because they’re actually not very viable at all, first was the damage and maybe this is what got better ( they were bad when I played through 8.0 ) but these specs don’t bring the utility that some of the other classes and specs bring like;

~Rogue’s mass stealth, sap, immunity, high burst.
~Dh instant cc, insane aoe dmg, high burst on demand, immunity, mass cc as tank and mobility.
~Frost mage’s slows, timewarp, immunity, cc. + bonus for being ranged.

It’s not my job to help you get over your own inherent mental flaws.

Well at least one person thinks that some of my perceptions are actually accurate…so that makes it hard.

Isn’t this how the class war starts?

Fools of a feather flock together.

Well let’s face it you’re a hunter so in PVP, 5 hunters vs 5 elemental shamans we all know the hunters are going to win right?

Unless they were all survival hunters…then the elemental hunters may stand a mild chance, I don’t know…

Survival hunters are actually rather decent in pvp of all things, just harder to master but they should lock down a ele shaman without peels.

My boss damage and utility would like to have a talk with your “mediocre” opinion of Ret pallies.

Oh sorry what mediocre means that they only pull good dps if they being played by a good player, like with beastmaster hunter and so on you can be a really bad player and still pull good dps and stuff.

That’s what mediocre means to me perhaps it was not the correct term

Coming from a mythic raiding environment we’ve been having long and tired debated of justifying bringing even 1 ret paladin for progression in Uldir. Settled for 1 and only, he was 99% percentile but middle of the pack as expected.

E: Still couldn’t bring him for the first kill of G’huun and Mythrax but oh well.

Data supports that Elemental is one of the better specs for M+.

Feral isn’t good because it’s scaling for Haste and Energy regen is borked.

Ret is pretty middling, they aren’t terribad in PvP because of their defensives though.

Unholy has some of the best sustained AoE in the game, they are awesome for M+ and Zul.

Demon Hunters have issues maintainign Defensives, they are passable ‘momentary’ tanks but for longer fights or as the primary tanking …tank of Raid encounters they are harder to play than a Warrior or Death Knight.

You just have hunter pet envy.

You arent wrong. We have utility, but our DPS is not good. Neither our ST or our AoE is worth talking about
