What are peoples opinions on bringing back the challenge mode for cool cosmetic rewards or even bringing the old gear from mop or weapons from wod into the black market auction house just like other unobtainable items such as tcg tabards or T3 sets from Naxxramas, id personaly love to see challenge mode back and see old rewards in the black market auction house.

I didn’t play MOP at all, so I never had a chance to earn those amazing armor sets. I think limited time rewards are unhealthy for the game. Cosmetics incentivize players to keep playing. Lock them away and that could possibly cause players to leave.
This is coming from someone with mage tower skins for at least half the specs in the game, as well as multiple elite pvp sets. I wouldn’t mind at all if they were available on the black market.

Let’s be honest about the BMAH. It heavily favors people dumping real money into the game. Imagine you’re someone who put in time and effort into getting these sets. You’re someone who demonstrated the skill needed to acquire these when they were current content. You proudly wear these sets because a. They look fantastic, and b. They’re an in game trophy and it’s ok to be proud of your pixels.
Now imagine walking by someone whos never raided above LFR, who’s never done challenging solo content(EG, Brawlers guild, Mage tower, Twisting Corridors etc. ) They’ve never timed a key above a 5. And they’ve never done ranked PVP. They’re wearing your set. They’re wearing your set because they spent hundreds of real world dollars buying unclaimed black market containers in hopes of collecting all of the pieces.
If they did this, WoW would truly feel “Pay to Win”
However, I’m not actually opposed to seeing these sets, as well as Elite PVP sets and the Mage Tower appearances make a comeback. But they would only be given as a reward for equivalently difficult current content.

Challenge Mode gear and Mage tower appearances need to stay gone forever because they devalue the items for the people who actually earned them.
I think that they should bring back T3 items through the original Naxx though, but since they’ve made them available through the BMAH they won’t bring those back either for the same reason why CM gear won’t be brought back.
Limited time rewards are healthy for the game because it incentivizes players to keep playing and achieve. Locking them away would cause players to feel FOMO and never miss a sub. I think that’s what you meant bud.
This. The have’s don’t want people to have the things they do, and the have-not’s want the stuff they don’t have or can’t earn the real way.

I think more solo mode challenges could be great. Rather see these challenges use a set template for classes though, personally. The mage tower was amazing for the 1st couple weeks but once someone got BiS legendaries and mythic raid gear it became far easier. A person that achieved it week 1 with junk gear and subpar legendaries put in far more work than someone that did it last week and demolished it with ease.
I mean… that’s kind of the point. That’s how it’s been since the start. If they allow the content to be available past a certain threshold it makes it all inclusive. People who want the appearances early will try harder and have the achievement/time stamp to show they did it sooner. People who just want the appearances will get it when their item level can carry them through the content. There doesn’t really need to be a template.
That’s why they’re made available during that content period of time. Challenge Mode content is limited to it’s expansion because every expansion classes and mechanics change, they can’t keep the challenge the same. Ergo the rewards are limited as well. You either put in the effort when they’re available or you don’t get anything. You don’t see people making posts about missing Arena Seasonal Gear that’s gone every season like you see people complaining about CM gear being gone.
The BMAH is awful. They should just keep adding more Challenge Mode content, preferably Solo content like the Mage Tower because it was a great source of repeatable content for Alts.
Bringing back the concept OF the challenge modes would be something I’d enjoy. Bringing back the old challenge modes is a no. I enjoy the fact that I invested my time an energy into acquiring transmog options that were difficult to come by and I’d like them to remain fairly unique. Druid’s bear form I am ESPECIALLY happy I unlocked 'cause man do I love it!
