Seriously a 1.5 second cast for somethings that does 10k dmg at 205 ilvl, needs to be 15k+, Lightning Bolt also needs a buff. Elemental needs about a 20% dmg increase
No buff will really help ele as the issues lie in the core design of the spec. Ele need a ret pala level of change.
Chain lightning just feels all over the place.
The spell’s damage is balanced around having 6 targets, it’s resource generation is based around 2 targets, most dungeons are only based around 3 targets, and it’s damage supporting flux melting meant for 4 targets, while it’s surging power extends it to 6 targets.
I miss having the AoE abilities simply being balanced around the damage against 3 targets, and everything else after that was simply “extra” that you earned.
Bloodmallet did a post on SE&L
Guess it is pretty timely and love it that it goes into the math of how the ability scales wonkily.
Most notable is “Alternatives” section which serves as a recommendations. I’d be pretty on board with the limitation of native overloads and changing it so that other abilities allow unlock the overloading per hit, such as changing Surge of Power from “hits one additional target” to “overload are possible from each target hit”
Honestly Blizz messed up when the introduced Earthquake. Before EQ was a thing, CL hit hard for big damage and had a CD. They introduced EQ and made that what did damage and CL hit like a wet noodle. They should have kept the CD on CL, kept it hitting for big dam, and made EQ the spammable low damage ability. Especially since EQ can be moved out of. That would make movement less punishable and make CL feel like what CL should feel like.
I couldnt agree more man, Earthquakes is good if depending on Tank and Affix. But it’ll only keep up with others AOE if not it falls off HARD. Not to mention it’s hard to see in larger packs so tanks will walk right past it
yea i agree, it feels like choices you make contradicting each other to make the spec not perform.
