Certain snares slowing me during bladestorm

Anyone else noticing this

For sure it’s one of the hunter ones

Being slowed in bladestorm feels terrible

Interesting, I saw a thread the other day showing that Crippling Poision and allegedly Concussive Shot went through Ice Block. I wonder if Crippling Poison also works on Bladestorm

My understanding is that rogues have tools to handle every situation. this would make sense.

sir and/or maam, i do not appreciate you correcting my typo.

you’re right that rouge’s crippling poision is yet another tool in their arsenal of:

  • Slowing people through immunities
  • Killing people through absorb shields and immunities
  • Quadruple hooking in BGs and getting to flags before mounted players do

I feel like the only thing rogues don’t have right now is a lay on hands and a second trinket. They should really address that. Just put another nail on the ret coffin (not that they’re particularly bad rn but it would be really funny)

it seems like cloak may fit this category in an expansion or 2 if the current trajectory continues.

I’m gonna test this on my warrior and hunter. Are there any special circumstances to take into consideration? Is it conc shot, imp conc (marks only), or tar trap?

It was into a BM hunter, I want to say it may have been from a trap but possibly from a hero talent slow if there is one, can’t remember.

I wonder if it has something to do with the timing of when bladestorm is pressed and when the slow applies. Otherwise it would happen pretty frequently.

I’ll test tar trap and dark chains/shaddow daggers, then. If it’s tar trap, that would be a very recent change in interactions.

I think it’ll be hard to reproduce reliably. As I’ve had it happen before with assassination rogue slow. I suspect it happens in a very small window when you start bladestorming and the snare is applied.

Hoping other warrs can chime in

I’ve also noticed that DH slows go through freedom as well (I think throw glaive? Not sure I don’t play dh). It might be intended, but it’s the only ability I’ve seen that works like this

There really shouldn’t be a “which one went off first” condition with bladestorm per the way it’s always worked. Something is wrong if you’re snared at all in it. Is the snare persisting through storm? Or is it just momentarily applying a snare that then breaks? If the latter, it might just be visual lag where it looks to you like you’d already started bladestorm before the snare is applied, but not to the other client. Other client might look like they snared you shortly at which point you broke it with bladestorm.

It’s from either server lag or TWW bugs, or a combination both.

Happens to more than just bladestorm, it can happen on freedom as well. Not many abilities in this game that immune you to snares and it’s incredibly rare, so you don’t see people talk about it.

I havent seen it but I believe you.

Anyome remember back in SL the necrolord slime soulbind had a puddle that dropped on your feet and that would slow me with DIVINE SHIELD and freedom up lmfao.

Do they even need it? Seems like there are multiple long windows of them being immune to damage. They seems to live indefinitely at 2% HP

it’s for their teammates

exactly!
it should also come with fireworks and balloons!

I think it’s just a server lag issue. I have been rooted by frostbite procs as I cast bladestorm, which was pretty fun and cool.
You can also get stunned as you press deep breath and just float in place for like seven entire seconds unable to do anything.
You can also bug out if you demolish as an evoker uses time stop, leaving you unable to cast anything but charge and heroic leap, and having zero movespeed + whatever speed you get from enhchants and talents (basically immobile) for ~45 seconds.

game is fine.

it’s just as good as it has always been
rejoyce!
