As a quest maniac myself, my goal is to complete every single quest out there. Party Sync is a great feature that allows me to complete a number of breadcrumb quests that I missed and couldn’t pick up because I’ve complete the its quest chain. However, there are certain quests that cannot be picked up even with Party Sync. I’m not sure if it’s intentional, but I couldn’t find a pattern to distinguish them.
I will start by listing a few such quests here and see if I can get an official confirmation that whether they are impossible to pick up even with Party Sync.
- Preserving the Barrens
- Warchief’s Command: Frostfire Ridge!
- Return to the Heart
- Back to the Chamber
- Unlocking the Power
I know some breadcrumb quests also have its own prerequisites, so the quests I listed already meet the following scenarios:
- A is the main character (max level) and complete the quest chain therefore cannot pick up the breadcrumb quest.
- B is the helper character and have not complete any of the quest chain and can pick up the breadcrumb quest, i.e. have completed all prerequisites of it.
- A and B forms a party of 2, and enable the Party Sync feature.
- B can pick up the breadcrumb quest as before, but A still cannot pick up the breadcrumb quest.
I think based on the concept of Party Sync, A is supposed to redo (or just do if not completed before) all the quests that B can pick up, which is the case about 90% of the time based on what my own experience. Thus I’m incline to believe these are bugs instead of intended behaviors. Some of them are garrison or HoA related so the implementation of this feature can be messy, but given the fact the Party Sync was only introduced in 8.2.5, it’s understandable that it’s not a perfect system.
Feel free to point out what I’m missing here. Any response from official support will be much appreciated!
