I lived in a “garden”(see:BASEMENT) apartment for a year and there were House Centipedes everywhere. I learned to love them because they killed all the other horrible pests, but they were scary fast. And seeing one just kinda scamper where you’re about to step is horrifying

I had never seen them before moving to the midwest! But they became my greatest ally against the roaches and silverfish
I moved out of that apartment 3 months early and thankfully I don’t see them anymore though
