Does anyone have any experience with this addon?

I installed it and used it for the first time just now. Upon my first scan I found that Wyrmrest Accord, which is listed as a FULL server, currently has a total population of 2,723.

  • Horde has a current population of 1,547 from level 20 to level 120.
  • Alliance has a current population of 1,176 from level 20 to level 120.

I expected a server listed currently as a FULL server to have a much greater population.

Edit #1:

I did a scan on Ysera / Durotan (connected), which are currently listed as HIGH population servers. There are a total of 626 players on Ysera / Durotan.

  • Horde has a current population of 245 players from level 20 to level 120.
  • Alliance has a current population of 381 players from level 20 to level 120.

Edit #2:

I just completed a scan on Winterhoof and Kilrogg, which are connected realms. They are listed as MEDIUM population servers and have a total of 493 players.

  • Horde has a total number of 265 players from level 20 to level 120.
  • Alliance has a total number of 228 players from level 20 to level 120.

Edit #3:

I finished my last scan of the day on Twisting Nether and Ravenholdt, which are connected realms and are listed as LOW population servers. The total for these two servers is 266 players.

  • Horde has a total population of 139 players from level 20 to level 120.
  • Alliance has a total population of 127 players from level 20 to level 120.

I went and bought some groceries. I plan on doing something with them. What are you planning on doing with your ADD-ON ?

I plan to run scans to get a better feel for what the possible active population of players at this time in Battle for Azeroth might be, a small amount of logic would have told you that much.

this is interesting. i never heard of this addon but im gonna check it out now. i would have thought a full server would have more players then that at a time.

I just counted 20 full pop servers and 30 high pop servers. GTA V has 80.5k viewers right now, there is a good chance GTA V has more players watching that game than we have playing our game. lol

The page doesnt explain how it actually counts players. That and considering CRZ, Warmode, and people in instances, I dont know how much I would trust the numbers youre getting.

I believe the intent is to take a great number of these and compare them with other people doing the same thing, not to take one shot and call it the final result.

Blizzard messed with the thresholds awhile ago. “High” is basically Medium+ now. “Full” is High+. Moon Guard is “Full” and has like 1.75x as many people on Alliance as WRA at any given time.

That addon is useless for that task. In order for anything from that or warcraftrealms to be any where near accurate enough everyone on in the game would need to use and upload data from that mod. I used it once a long time ago, back then it used /whois and took a snap shot. There are a lot of problems with that, least of which the /who search has a cap of 50 results. It will miss anyone switching characters, and could potentially count someone twice.
