Census numbers for Horde on Defias Pillager

I’ve been running my census addon (CensusPlusClassic) while playing on my horde HC character on Defias Pillager. I routinely see anywhere from 6k-7k horde players online at once with the census scan during normal evening or weekend hours.

I’m wondering if anyone has run something similar over on Skull Rock Horde? I haven’t got a chance to run my census scan there but would be cool to compare and see the population differences.

No I have not yet, I guess I could try later on for you.

Current counts on census…

Server Size

Defias Pillager 68% total hardcore population
Skull Rock 32% total hardcore population

% Alliance vs Horde

Defias Pillager 67% Alliance Dominated
Skull Rock 73% Horde Dominated

(NOTE): Dead players are not counted in these results.

The Breakdown

ALLIANCE PERKS

  • If you are alliance: DEFIAS PILLAGER will have the best functioning auction house. This realm will also offer the best grouping at higher levels. There will be Alliance raid guilds on this server with 100% clears guaranteed at some point. As the players are coming directly from classic era with experience in it.
  • Raid wide fear immunity for tanks via dwarf priest.
  • [Bag of Marbles] : A level 4 quest item that reduces all incoming raid damage by 25% (25% chance for boss to miss) from 10 seconds up to 66.6 minutes total defensive power in 1 fight. This item is ridiculously strong on on hard hitting tank fights like Chromagnus & Patchwerk. It lowers fight difficulty in any encounter by 25%, Period. (Might be an exploit - BEWARE!)
  • Gnome Racial (HUGE!!! nearly every spider and ranged unit in game will attempt to “net/root” you, if you want to “PVP” this is the alliance’s best choice. Hands down #1 caster dps race. #1 survive to escape race. HARDCORE!)
  • Human Racial (Did someone say Thunderfury? Need rep? Get it faster as Human.)
  • ELF racial (Extra tanky with dodge, and requires a dwarf priest to counter fears)
  • Dwarf Racial (#1 PVE Priest in game, #1 survive to kill race, racial can heavily counter dot mechanics, and make rogue life easier.)
  • Paladins (Tanky healer with absurd mana pools. With higher skill play rewards for dps.)

HORDE PERKS:

  • If you are horde the only real option is at this point is SKULL ROCK. (if you ever want to attempt a world boss.)
  • Shaman Windfury Totems faster fights (but very likely to instantly kill you in raid. BEWARE!)
  • Orc Racials (Stun resist is HUGE!!! Highest melee dps! Best race option.)
  • Troll Racials (Grinding beasts for faster leveling and gold making HUGE!!! Highest damage Thunderfury Horde Tank)
  • Forsaken racial (fears) and trademark rogue/warrior + cannibalize
  • Tauren Racial (Non-tank Druids have a warstomp button to escape with.)
  • Tauren Sizes have a Giant hit box allowing you to melee from 10+ yards away while /mooving. (This also means enemies will melee you from 10 yards away too while moving, this also affects the hunter dead zones, and agro radius too. BEWARE! )
  • Shamans (Raid healer with high skill play rewards for support dps.)

The Defias Pillager server will likely remain the strongest and most stable Hardcore Server long term… The players with elite mindsets will likely flock to alliance unless something drastically changes. If you want to do things as Horde, be it casual or competitive… I would recommend rolling on Skull Rock for the Horde.

Eventually the hardcore realms will be merged into one mega server when a realm dies. The Alliance faction is statistically stronger in classic overall in both raiding perks and leveling perks.

  • Yes, The Horde can do more damage faster… Pull threat/die.
  • HOWEVER!!! The Alliance has better threat management allowing you to maintain agro & deal more damage in a fight.

If blizzard implements cross realm &/or cross faction groups between the 2 hardcore servers… This could change things A LOT!

  • Whether they would allow you to be friendly with the opposing faction at some point thats… TBD.
  • Creating a second cloth reputation vendor for “Hated-Neutral” rep in a capital city by the side entrance could do the trick.
