Celestial Brew vs Ignore Pain and buffs

We’ve reached a point where the Ignore Pain ability has far more power than Brewmaster’s Celestial Brew. I think Brewmaster should receive a significant buff to Celestial Brew. The amount of shielding you get from using Celestial Brew is truly insignificant.

In addition to Celestial Brew, we should also get a buff to Self Healing. Relying more on the healer to run keys compared to other tanks isn’t ideal, especially for players who mainly pug and lack communication with the healer. Most players do pugs and don’t have a dedicated team, so a self-healing buff for Brewmaster to make it a bit more independent makes sense. I thought Brew’s self-healing was excellent in Season 4 of Dragonflight.

Reducing the cooldown of Fortifying Brew by 1 minute would help, along with a slight buff to Stagger (for example, a buff to the amount of magic damage that can go into Stagger).

This wouldn’t necessarily make Brewmaster meta, but it would at least make it more competitive and viable. You have no idea how hard it is to get invited to +12 keys or higher while playing Brewmaster just by pugging. Meanwhile, with my Prot Warrior and Guardian Druid, I get invites almost instantly.

I’ve been alting monk since shadowlands and did +15’s on it and I always thought the random orbs self healing was atrocious design. Nowadays I’m not even touching my alt until something changes, it just feels so bad to play it’s not even fun.

Celestial Brew is almost useless, I’ve used it a lot only to have it instantly dissipiate.

Yes, I fully agree. If they’re going to nerf our healing, they need to buff stagger to actually be the “smooth damage intake” tank we were supposed to be because in DF, we were a green BDK and now we are just crap. Popping a meaty CB was our trump card in DF and felt great, now it feels nearly useless. I hate what they did to Brew in TWW.

If ox stance was buffed it would be awesome at being a stagger cockroach.

Currently it feels like ox stance is only like an extra multiplicative 20% or so DR which was a little disappointing. It’s basically just a weaker will of the necropolis.

I ate a one shot tank buster with it but still died, it was the green dragon world boss. Log was like, 8 mil dmg, 8 mil staggered, 300K overkill roughly.

So close to 50% magic stagger from ox stance instead of around 40% which is my normal magic stagger

Can’t really compare Celestial brew to anything from any tanks… its a longish cooldown that does almost nothing even if its buffed by a lot of stacks…

Personally, I’d rather see a talent that bakes some form of the old “Guard” ability into Expel Harm usage. That would feel much better to use.
