They need scarcity to maintain demand for all subsequent “collectors editions”. So the pre-orders cap out and you feel bad for missing out “wow I better be quicker next time, they sold out in 6 hours”.
However they have bulk sold them to retailers. So if you want one, they will be available easy enough (there are retailers still trying to get rid of BFA collectors editions).
Its all an expectations management exercise. Create illusion of scarcity to fuel demand. I am in a similar boat, I went to pre-order and they were sold out, was worried at first thinking I missed out.

I picked the wrong week to empty out my checking account.
It seems rather silly for Blizzard to say the collectors edition is sold out. All they need to do is take all the preorders and whatever they expect to sell in addition and have the manufacturer make that number. Really Blizzard. How naive do you think we are? Apparently, very.

Yeah. I was trying to figure out what I was missing about the CE, but if that’s it, money well saved.
Those re-colored “basic” mounts are pretty meh to me and not worth the money…at all! What is not pretty meh though is that Deathwing mount which will not require the CE edition.
I mean, I was tempted but then remembered what happened to all my other CE wow boxes… yes they gather dust in the closet which will be the same for that one after I’m done staring at that ok-ish Rag 10 statue.
The statue might be worth it if it actually looked like Ragnaros. I’m not sure what boss that is, but it’s not the one at the end of Molten Core.
In the past when there was an actual box cost for the game (around $50) it was a little more bearable. You are literally only getting a couple baubles for $100 this time around.

I have been so upset over it I have been fussing at family.
couldn’t even solve a puzzle on tv I even watched my favorite comedian.
I was happy then but after just listening to music trying to get in a good mood.

I might be alone in this but I do not believe that anniversary collector’s editions ought to be limited print runs.
They’re for nostalgia, not resale value. Artificial scarcity only drives up the secondary market price, which hurts the customers who don’t manage to snag one before they sell out. Like many people here.

I noticed Amazon and Game Stop are too sold out…Target does not do CE, neither does Walmart, Fry’s electronic’s? not likely.
best buy? new egg had them and Amazon did, gamestop had them too, resellers are using some site or something to see when it is available and buying them, check ebay, pretty sad:O(
Statues are regularly between $100-$350, if not higher. This is a collector’s thing, not a “go-to-Wal-Mart-and-pick-up-a-toy-because-you-forgot-your-niece’s-birthday” thing. If this isn’t for you, then you aren’t a collector.
Also, the Blizzard store is selling other statues for between $45-$450, so this isn’t unreasonable to get the additional items as well.
Only the EU Amazon site had them for sale. The USA one did not.
Unfortunately I think Newegg will be unable to fulfill their orders. You can ALWAYS preorder through them but they only ship as many as they receive on a first come first serve basis.
Heads up, you can always pre-order via Gamestop. I plan on doing so tonight and will probably pick up a few copies.
