CC skips m+

Does anyone know what cc that you can use for skips that will not put you in combat? And why is it that some cc’s will put you in combat?

Sap and Imprison will not put you in combat.

Hunter Trap and mage Polymorph will put the first person that runs past in combat, but if the hunter or mage does it, they can run through first and then FD/Invis after everyone else is through and effectively skip the pack that way.

Also any night elf can do the same thing with shadowmeld. So e.g. a Night Elf Monk could effectively do the same mage/hunter trick as above.

Roots doesn’t put you in combat either. Not sure why. You’d think they’d notice a bunch of roots coming out of the ground and anchoring them in place. Apparently they’re cool with it though.

Imprison will put you in combat after it is over if you took the movement speed slow conduit. It’s a weird bug.

Ring of Peace will not put you in combat, even if you are in combat, as long as the mobs you’re ringing aren’t in combat. You can use it in combination with other cc to move mobs for skips.

Doesn’t sound like a bug at all, slows always put you in combat. Don’t take this conduit if you want to do imprison skips.

Mind soothe helps reduce threat radius( works in mists). Ring is the monk form of no threat cc. Imprison and sap are hard cc’s. Hunter can cc and run past get in combat. Rest of group runs past then hunter feigns resetting threat.

I experienced this a couple of times before realizing what was causing this. Apparently if you are far from the mob it won’t aggro. Some dhs don’t realize this though. Had a dh with this conduit cause an extra mob pull.

Monks can incap into ring of peace to help with skipping. Incap will only aggro if you get too close to it. This works on the pack in mists before the first boss too

My monk incap puts me in combat but after reading this in not sure if I have the post incap slow conduit or not.

It would either be the conduit or you just get too close to the mob. We skip packs with Incap and RoP frequently so can confirm it does work =)
