Can we get cave entrances please? When questing it gets crazy annoying sometimes. Could be a cave we were in before but you just fly around in circles getting pissed about it. Doesn’t need to be crazy, just something small and subtle would help a lot.
Just a thought after flying in circles and feeling like an idiot.

The minimap does have a above or below you indicator on it.
Not perfect but if there’s quest indicators you can tell if it’s in cave below you or a floating island above you.
It doesn’t show anything about the entrance to the caves though. So you can see your quest is below you, but the entrance might be above you, or on the same level. So the quest indicator doesn’t help if we can’t find the cave entrance.

Ive never seen this. Where is it?
Little up and down arrow on everything that gets marked on the mini map. If you’re always zoomed all the way out it’s pretty easy for them to get lost in the clutter.
Not sure if there’s any options to turn them on and off, just always been there for me.

Yup and they are definetly helpful for finding the quest giver/objective, but not the entrance to the cave. Have had a few caves go way way down, so finding the entrance was actually kind of harder with the quest verticality indicator.
Just feel like a cave entrance icon would be pretty darn helpful, and just like all the rest make it something you can hide if you don’t want it.
I guess looking is part of the adventure of questing?

They’re being stubborn. I wish they would just cave, and make this change.

But not for the actual quest icons? It’s just a weird thing. I am find with doing a bit of looking around, but when you hide a cave under a root, and the quest is 40 yards below or above it and I go in circles while flying for a few minutes and eventually have to go look it up…it just seems tedious.
It’s pretty rare but it does happen with some extremely vertical “maze” maps. Especially when you’re still on ground mounts. In general Legion maps were the worst at this. Nazjatar was pretty bad without flight as well.
Couple of the zones in this expansion would have been absolute hell without flight.
Caves usually aren’t that vertical though. Sometimes you have to look to find things.

It would be better with a cave marking on caves above a certain size.
Perhaps a three dimensional line pointing you to the objective and an AI to drive your toon there as well.
They toy’d around with some no indicator quests this expansion. They’re potentially a much more rewarding game experience, but much harder to design and play test for.
idk, wow is already extremely easy to quest. Having to look around a little for a cave is not really a problem. You’re exploring the land.
Yea, but it’s not congruent with the “go to the dot” user experience that we have. Sometimes you don’t even know you might be looking for a cave.
I mean, if you have a quest on another continent, it’ll show you on the map to take a portal.
And even though you’re exploring the land, it’s still frustrating finding some of these entrances. Even the 4th, 5th time (because it’s a daily every couple weeks or so), it’s a pain to find entrances. Took me a long time to learn the caves in Korthia, especially fast enough to get the rare that spawned inside of before it was dead.
A secondary marker with cave entrance would be really helpful on the mini map.
Typically the quest indicator points to the entrance then once you enter it moves further in. I can’t think of a cave that was hard to find namely with the current system.
What? Never seen this happen before unless there is a quest person at the entrance. What quest have you done that did this? This would be fine if it was a thing, but I have never seen this happen if there is not an external quest giver.
Also, even outside of quests…I would like to go check out random caves. Would be a cool thing to just see and go check out.
Not arguing against this idea.
You’ve never had the quest indicator of your current quest make that indicator saying X yards away at the cave entrance? Where does it point to go?
I have never seen a quest marker mark a cave entrance unless there is something you have to do at the entrance of the cave. Not to mention elites and stuff as well, but yeah is this a new thing they just added, because if not maybe it is an add on you have.
