Do not take gold or items from people not in your current guild or on your friends list / BN.
It seems Blizzards AI GMs/Systems are flagging and suspending/banning anyone that is receiving items or gold from anyone you do not “know”. Its so bad that you can make an account give it some from your main and send it to someone that you want to get target banned if you really wanted to. I’d advise watching Asmongold’s newest video on this topic as it has happened to me today as well.
And here we go
I feel like this happened to my account, but after 4 appeals it’s clear they’re not reviewing it or telling me what I did wrong. I also wonder if trading gold to summon-bots causes issues. No telling. Thanks for the heads up.
I would high suggest anyone that is getting automated copy paste responses from AI and unable to get their unjust suspension/bans even look at by a real person to file a complaint to the BBB vs Activision Blizzard.
Now the question is how much gold do I need to send to trigger a response. He took my loot! Enjoy the 2 week vacation
That seems a bit fear mongering. You would have to send the gold, which would get your account banned if that is the case. And likely the recipient would have to accept the gold out of the mail, something people should know not to do already.
I guess you could create a burner account, with fake info and buy gold on it then send it but that seems like a lot work and real $ to do something that probably wouldn’t work anyway.
Prob just be easier to buy gold on behalf of someone else. which you could always have done.
You realize, of course, that the BBB is a legalized protection racket with no actual power.
Blizz, correctly, couldn’t care less about the BBB.
Do you mean while in a raid or dungeon, or while out in the world? Selling items out in the world is perfectly normal. Last night I sold a bolt of woolen cloth to someone in Southshore because I had an extra one and they needed it for the cloak quest. I seriously doubt Blizzard would ban someone for a legitimate trade like that.
The BBB is so irrelevant and it shows when people say complain to them. It doesn’t matter, they are a glorified yelp review for the highest bidder.
Gross over simplification.
Trades across versions are allowed but not supported. The trade itself does not trigger account actions. The origin of the gold being traded does.
If you were traded illicit gold you should get popped for it.
I have no need to watch a confirmed liar.
There are several CS threads covering this with blue posts. Go there instead of someone who’s job is to be inflammatory on youtube.
The only reports I have been seeing of this is through mail only not direct trades.
This is the case but with addons that pull everything from the mail it can get passed up, I send a ton of greens to my alt to DE along with all my cloth, so mass opening from multiple mails after a day or two I don’t tend to check.
Its not about who it is, but about the issue its self, I am not a fan of Asmon but this is where I was directed by family and friends to be made aware of what’s going on.
But cod is an in game feature.
You are correct but as Zeep seems to of pointed out which I am unsure to be accurate or not but seems legit, if the gold you are receiving from the CoD is bad then you can get “possibly” get punished for it.
Hmm… I loaned a guildie 60gold in a trade on Sunday and haven’t had any issues.
The issues is from outside BN, Friends list and Guild. There are some mail addons that will auto generate names for you when you start typing the name to send to ppl, if you are using that those names are safe.
The point of this post is not to promote, troll or cause a seen but to inform people about what is going on so they don’t run into these issues.
Ah, well I’m not in the habit giving people I don’t know large sums of gold- so I guess I’m good to go here.
Is it doing it to you with BoE/Gold trading? (THAT might be concern)
And if so, it seems like adding them to the friends last temporarily would be the workaround.
I think the idea of criminalizing opening your mail is cringe, and some sort of bizarre Astro-turf campaign from Blizzard to justify their lazy implementation of auto-moderation.
