Kudos Blizz. This quest is the absolute worst. Why can’t y’all just make stuff this NOT be ruined by other players???
“Let’s take this thing that people need and slap on a debuff so that when one of the hundred people at Serpent’s Overlook so much as targets it, it’ll run away!”
This is either malicious game design or ineptness, and I’m not sure which I’d go with at this point because they do crap like this every year.
The only way I could catch Gizmo was to chase him around until he ran into the side of a rock face, and I mean “literally” ran into the rock, so only his feet were sticking out of the terrain. That seemed to lock him in place long enough for me to get the cast off.
The quest is a nightmare.
GUYS I FIGURED IT OUT! Just go on war mode. There’s much fewer people there and from what I saw everyone’s just being super chill. People are just trying to get this done, so they aren’t really attacking anyone. After literal hours of trying, I turned on war mode and got it within minutes.
to the players having some trouble use the rp walk when no one is around
I’m having a major flashback. Is that from Broker dungeon? I think I recall /sit then wait for a while. Gizmo magically appears in my bag.
AAA gameplay, thank you Blizzard.
I LOVE THIS QUEST and just did it! It reminds me of the pig in Freehold. Eventually he runs out of the hut and stops where you can finally grab him. Just have to be smarter than some pixels.
It’s the Ten Percent Rule!
You have to be 10% smarter than whatever it is you’re working with.
The area is lagging really bad so its almost impossible to catch gizmo.
Too many people are running which also makes it impossible as it causes Gizmo to run off.
Please fix this quest.
Yeah, way to not think this through Blizzard. Let’s set up a quest where you have to catch something that moves as soon as someone takes a step not expecting griefers to be out messing it up for everyone else. Like that has worked out at all in the last twenty years.
Worst design of a quest yet. Blizzard needs to fire whoever came up with this quest idea. I can see having a phase instanced for each player but when you depend on other players to not be a jerk, it doesnt work. Looks like I won’t be getting that achievement.
i cant see him and the idol keeps pointing in random directions
Good to know I’m not the only one screaming bloody murder at this wretched creature.
Idol keeps pointing in random directions. This sums up the whole anniversary
Dear Blizzard,
Remove “skittish” on Gizmo. Running then walking and finally just standing waiting for Gizmo to stop and then have the trapping fail for over an hour is terrible.
Love and hugs when this is fixed,
Bluedragen
bit of a nuisance… but it took me less than 5m. i dont think many of you would have survived vanilla.
lol what? surviving vanilla has what to do with this? And yes I did survive the old days, doesn’t change that this quest is horrible.
Have you tried just… toggling walking?
The debuff shows that he’s startled by sudden movements.
… So don’t make sudden movements. Take it slow. He sits there if nobody’s running.
