What form of catch up? World quests (specifically emmisaries), invasions, and warfronts are all pretty quick forms of catch-up and will get you ready to do group content very quickly. They’re updated every season/tier.
The 30% or so reduction on ap needed per level helps you get your neck up to reasonable levels, even if you haven’t played in a long while or are a fresh 120.
I got a couple toons to 380 w/o doing any dungeons or raids (other than WFs and WBs).

AFK in a Wafront and you get a 370. I don’t know what the minimum Emissaries are dropping now. Considering you ding 120 at around 280, a free 370 is a good deal. WQs are rich with gear. And since mobs scale, although a little more of a struggle on a fresh 120, they’re totally doable.
AP is dirt cheap right now.
The incursions give up to 370, emissary caches go up to 385, Darkshore Quest and zone Boss give 400. Those are the catch up mechanics to get you ready for BoD which starts at 385, 370 for LFR.
Just thinking of resubbing that’s all. This game isn’t as fun as it used to be, but everything else just sucks so hard that id wrather play this still. I tried!
You have to be 340 to queue for Arathi and 355 to queue for Darkshore. It isn’t something you can do at 280.
Emissary rewards start at 310 and scale up to 385 based on your ilevel.
For a fresh 120, timewalking is probably the fastest way to get a set of basic gear to do things like warfronts and heroics. Obviously, this is gated by the timing of when you reach 120; it’s not worth waiting around for.

I too vote to kick people who are obviously afk in a war front. There’s something sad about someone who can’t even pretend to be doing something. Run around and kill mobs or collect some resources for crying out loud.

Did they increase it with s2? It used to be 320 (and before that it was 0, but that was the horde special ilvl). It seems odd that they’d increase it since the rewards didn’t increase, but who knows…
preach. tired of seeing these lazy idiots, but even worse when they get an attitude when you call them out on it.

I don’t call out because they will get defensive like you said. I just put the vote to the group and the reason and if they get kicked then good, if not then it’s on the dummies who said no. Maybe they have friends and that’s why they didn’t get kicked I dunno.
It’s 320. The other one might be 340.
I guess it is still 320. Thought it had been increased. The reason they increased it before was because it allowed you to bypass heroics.

catch up to what🤔 i have a 383 and a 380 avatar from WQ and couple warfronts. i really cant imagine asking for more catch up other than what i still can get form playing currently
AP one is 40 one is 39 . both from playing 10 or so a week plus a 92 rogue leveled from zero. and i leveled this warrior from 20. if anymore might as well have someone else play for you
