Catch Up Gear

There is no catch up gear in classic overall. You either did it or your progressing towards it.

Heh. I have 0 oats to sow in this game. My end game was to experience the low level dungeons that i completely skipped 15 years ago. I never experience SFK, RFK, RFC, Ulda, ZF and only really did SM once, etc. Now why would I have any desire to “decimate” content - in its current form?

You speak as if it’s some sort of achievement to progress in Classic.

At the end of the day, people playing Classic have zero idea of what progression was like in Vanilla. Those who talk like they do are obviously coming from private servers as they lack the perspective that people who actually did the end game content at patch have.

The thought of “decimating” Classic content is pretty funny. The thought of players burning out because of Classic is pretty funny. Barrens chat wasn’t never funny. Nor were Chuck Norris jokes. Nor was Leroy Jenkins. Is it starting to dawn on you yet?

I played at release and raided in Vanilla (in a progression raiding guild). Why do you state here that people who play Classic didn’t play Vanilla? I know many who did.

That’s cool. When said people it was more a generalization. There will obviously be those that come back and enjoy Classic for what it is. That’s cool. My point was merely that for some, they will never get it when it comes to raiding. That “decimating” Classic is meaningless.

There is raiding, and there is raiding at patch. The latter being a huge difference. Granted, my experience is an outlier, but my point being few are qualified to speak about what progression raiding was like back in the day. And really there is no need to, unless you’re a bitter person like me that is just mad we got Classic in its current form. People can enjoy what they like. This means both the Min Max crowd and the less meta driven crowd. But “raiding” in Classic? Super accessible.

But I also derailed the thread like crazy. Lol.

I agree with a lot of what you’re saying here.

Raiding in Vanilla was totally different (where everyone was figuring out how things worked etc) and a large portion of those playing then didn’t even get to experience raiding past like the ZG/MC level. Now everybody raids.

Some raids after a bit will probably struggle to get 40, as far as I’m concerned under geared players are better than empty spots. BWL and MC will also be hard to constantly get a full raid, so even if you’re on the bench for Naxx you should be able to get in those bwl’s of even AQs to help you get geared.

It’s not. BUt when you make statements about how accesible content is without any evidence it sort of makes you look trollish.

Nah. I’m not a troll. Well, maybe a little bit. Haha. But I’m Just a bitter Classic turned out the way it did. But the content is accessible. If guilds are downing bosses without seeing a single mechanic that’s practically LFR no?

Only tanks need to be. Everyone else could be in blues or greens. Consumables and world buffs is all other players need.

No it’s not.

Once work settles down I probably won’t be seeing the inside of Naxx till after I’ve done my due diligence in AQ. Accessibility and lack of challenge are two seperate things.

Depends on your definition I suppose, but it’s all good.

Not quite. LFR boss fights can easily exceed 5 minutes. Classic fights? Pfff…barely a minute if that =/

LFR is not a difficulty. with determination, LFR is a mishaped mess. it encourages failure and mediocricy far too much. And then you hit a boss like N’zoth that requires one click every minute and it takes 10 stacks to ‘get it’.

one interesting fact about LFR N’zoth, once you hit that 10th stack, and it’s obvious more help isn’t coming, players actually do begin to click their item and the boss dies.

Blizzard’s low faith in LFR players caused bad LFR players, when with the right challenge they could be half-decent. give them an opportunity and they’ll rise to the occasion somewhat.
