I didn’t play WOD. Always wanted a cool garrison. I don’t even know its rewards. But I want it. Anyone else in the same spot?

You can always go play the WoD expansion…rewards won’t be relavent anymore but they are still there. It’s player housing basically with some customization, but you have to invite other people to your garrison or they won’t see it/be able to visit.
Oh the garrison is easy. In this day and age of anima farming I really miss the automatic garrison resources.

The Garrison is just a waiting game. Check back every few days, collect your full garrison cache, and build whatever you can afford.

Building your garrison is easy, it has a totally passive resource generation system.
Is it worth the fun nowadays? I’m scared because saw a dude that got like 1000 followers in it. I don’t want to farm recruits.
20 followers max, 25 with the Level Three Barracks.

Well you can build the bank and trading post buildings. That way you can use your garrison hearthstone as a quick way to reach your bank or an AH but outside of that, not really.

I mean if you want to do it there’s quite a few unique rewards I’m personally probably going to go do the starting scenario and stuff at some point myself just to unlock the garrison plus your Alliance so the garrison actually looks cool

Garrisons is NOT player housing. Its more like your own lil area with mini games that let you gather resources.
Player housing would be designing the house you want and decorating it as you see fit not given a building and letting you select premade smaller shacks to go around it that you still don’t have any say in how they look in the end.

While I agree that they are a poor excuse for player housing, they are still at the core, player housing.

The only real benefit to the mission table now is rare toys/mounts/pets that pop up every week, and there aren’t nearly enough of those to require a full garrison staff.

I use my garrison as a quick access for a bank and auction house. Doesn’t take all that long to get it built up, and you can recruit new followers weekly with the skills you need from the inn. You just have to keep up with it. There are a lot of toys, transmogs, pets, and mounts to be earned from it.
This is a brand new character on a brand new account I started in 8.3. I started building my garrison at the end of BfA before SL dropped and it’s nearly completely maxed out now.

I still use my garrison quite a bit. Free resources, personal bank system, auction house, mount stables, fishing, etc. It is not hard to get up and going. The resources you can send to alts to speed their crafting too. I get daily quests that helped me level fast.
