I went to use the Catalyst today and it only offered side grades. Same ilvl stats, etc. and it offered tier boots, wrists, and belt. Dis it stop giving you upgrades eventually?
As far as I’m aware it never upgrades anything, it converts a piece of gear into its tier equivalent at the same item level and track

yes. it’s not an upgrade, it’s a tier emulator.

Oh. Gotcha.
Beside the 5 tier slots you can also transform gear for other slots to raid gear too. Its a way to get the full set of raid gear if you have a piece that never drops. You may also want to swap a piece of gear because the stats are better for you.
