I feel like if I convert a 428 (heroic color) ilvl piece of gear at the catalyst I should get the normal and raid finder color variants as well. I got lucky and got those shoulders out of the vault but now I have to go back and do rf and normal even if I dont need gear to get those appearances.
Does anyone else think we should get lower tier colors from a heroic item or mythic if you are that lucky?
It’d be nice, but I think Blizzard would rather have the extra time we have to spend re-gathering gear for different transmogs.
Yes we absolutely should get the lower ilvl tier appearance if we get a higher ilvl tier piece.
Everyone is on board with this and it was brought up last season when Blizzard removed the ability to even roll on tier pieces of a lower IL outside of the “transmog” button.
I got a 441 tier helm on my DH last week. Obviously that’s really good, but now I have to catalyze and upgrade another helm to get the other tints.
When you unlock a mog it should unlock all lower tier mogs.
Didn’t last season conquest gear unlock heroic tint? I can confirm base conquest gear did not this time around…
Yep, I would think most would feel that way. Because trying to find that one piece that’s an off-set piece to turn into a lower level tier isn’t easy.
I have to go back to VotI just to farm the only pair of boots in LFR that I can turn into tier for the appearance, because I only unlocked the heroic appearance.
i got a raid-finder Matriarch’s Opulent Girldle from the great vault, the day this patch went live, and have been waiting for this day, to use the catalyst to turn it into the last item i needed to complete my raid finder Vault of the Incarnates dk set, when the catalyst shut down, we were told we would be able to convert season 1 items, free of charge, yet today, the catalyst is back up and running, yet i still can’t convert season 1 items, please fix this, asap, Blizz!
Same here. Last season’s gear is blacked out and it won’t let me. It just keeps saying “insert an eligible Dragonflight season 2 item.”
What happened to season 1 stuff? 
This would really piss me if its true, since they removed it entirely on the first week of the patch and some piece have no source, they wont drop from anything, not boe or a boss, nothing. The only way to obtain the priest wrists is via catalyst, this season its the waist item.
Horrible design.
Same with boots. I have to go run LFR VotI for the boots I need for my tier set. It’s terrible design, agreed.
