So I just logged in a bit ago after being off for roughly 20ish hours. I go to start working on the new Chapter of the Kyrian campaign, where you have to kill the manifestation things to charge the sword. They’re in packs of three, so I always start with Cataclysm for that decent initial burst, and then Immolate gets applied to each target, then Channel Demonfire, yada yada yada. Oddly enough, on 6 out of 8 casts of Cataclysm, Immolate did NOT get applied and “missed” appeared above the mob’s health bars along with Channel Demonfire not becoming activated. Has anyone else noticed this? This has got to be a bug. With the incoming buffs to a few classes on the Jan 12, Des is gonna be trending dead last so surely they are not nerfing locks…right?
PS. I just checked again, and now it’s “missed” 7 out of 9 times. In addition, my voidwalker’s aoe spell missed…

The mobs in question you are trying to hit have an enate ability to dodge incoming dmg of ANY sort.
It’s literally never happened before. Every time the daily is up in that area, I do the exact same rotation on those mobs: Cataclysm, Rain of Fire, Channel Demonfire, take a drink, loot. Until not even an hour ago.
Then you lucked out, since it’s REAL fun on my shaman having skills go on cooldown for 3x “miss” back to back.
I feel like the miss chance crap they added back in is blizzards sick tribute to weapon skills from classic wow.
So there IS a chance to miss and my excess of good luck has hit a brick wall?
Yeah I think it’s a flat 20%. Sometimes I can rip through a couple of packs without getting a miss and then other times all of my AoE misses. For something like Chain Lightning if the first target is “missed” then they are ALL missed, which compounds the issue. Cataclysm should be able to hit others in the pack but… who knows with Blizz.
