Looks like surveys went out about it.
do not want. just let it be done at wotlk
Cataclysm is not classic, it’s going to be DOA.
I didn’t mind Cata. Just hated though that long content drought with the last patch.
i will unsub if they do cata. you either keep it wotlk or do classic +. all xpacs after wotlk ruined the game
Im done after wrath and I will unsub for the first time in 18 years.
Who got the survey? Everyone or a selected few??
Its been so long i dont remember what all i did and didnt like about it.
I kind of disagree’d with the last part, but I don’t get why Blizzard didn’t look at “Dedicated Expansions” servers. We have one for Vanilla Classic, but we don’t have one for TBC Classic.
I’m assuming just went out to a group, not sure of the size
Cataclysm was so bad
Why? Can you be specific? What about cataclysm was so bad?
It had probably the best PvP gameplay wow has ever had.
It has some of the best class design the game has ever had.
What made it so bad for you?
Was it the destruction of the old world?
The talent tree changes?
The brick wall of the heroics?
Be specific
Did not like the theme of the expansion, the class changes to my spec, Ret, the world revamp, the dungeons (partly to do with theme), the zones, the raids except firelands, and the talent tree changes.
Edit: As a follow up, cataclysm no longer feels “classic”, I would rather see classic + off of wrath than go through the slog of cata again where it is just retail lite and at that point I would rather play dragonflight which actually has a development team making new things.
Just like Wrath and TBC before it, Cata isn’t Classic WoW.
This is my last Huzzah with WoW after subscribing none stop for 2 accounts since the launch of OG TBC if Blizzard winds up adding features to Wrath great I will stay subbed but, the day the prepatch comes for Cata Classic it will be my last day (At least personally)
Probably a bunch of content creators who will all want it so they can keep pumping out content.
Noone needs to be specific. A huge amount of players memories including my own remember quitting in cata. The game was junk, they changed so much of the old world and the game just didn’t have a good feel to it. Wrath was the beginning of the downfall becoming more ARPG like than it’s predecessors and cata was the stake in the heart by the destruction of the old world.
You do need to be specific though. If you can’t give a reason for disliking something then you are just disliking it out of principle.
How about this. What do you like about Wrath of the Lich King
Sometimes people play games, they don’t know exactly why they don’t like it, but they have no desire to play it. For me it was probably the homogenisation of classes and destruction of the old world but I can’t point a finger exactly, all I know is I stopped enjoying the game and I quit.
Wrath I enjoy the storyline, I think the classes moved a bit too action RPG for my liking but I still enjoy that they are all unique.
I played vanilla, I enjoyed it and played the entire expansion, I played tbc and wrath and the same thing happened. Cata I quit after about 3 months. Don’t know why exactly, I just know that I came back to try every expansion after that and the only one I played for longer than 3 months was legion. The game just wasn’t enjoyable enough to keep me interested after wrath.
I mean personally I’d prefer the branch the timeline off from wotlk classic into new territories
Basically a new expansion but keeping the core class design and game philosophy
It’d be a lot of work and I’m sure a lot of people wouldn’t want it but I’d be so pumped for something like that.
Just pretend the cataclysm never happened and forge a new direction with WoW classic, new content but old design ideas, keep the old zones and models etc
We’d miss mop doing it this way and I enjoyed that expansion but I’d be willing to make that concession if we could keep that core wotlk experience and just move into a new expansion with it.
