Cataclysm Classic – Horde – Mankirk Realm
I’ve searched the forums and found many posts reporting a phasing issue in Mount Hyjal in the Cataclysm release. I, too, am experiencing issues in Mount Hyjal with two level 85 toons, Tamark (Hunter) and Josena (Priest), but it’s a very different issue. Numerous Blizzard forum posts have described not being able to see NPCs in The Regrowth or Sanctuary of Malorne zones, with Tortolla and Niden phasing out when players enter the zone. I can’t see NPCs in The Regrowth or Sanctuary of Malorne zones, as well, but I can see Tortolla and Niden. Additionally, these two NPC’s never phase out for me. My issue/problem is they don’t have any quests follow on quest to offer to open access to the Molten Front. I can open their chat dialog box and speak to them but no quests.
Troubleshooting steps that I have taken to see if I could determine the cause of the above issues:
1). Installed addon BTWQuests. Once I installed this addon, it shows my level 85 Hunter Tamark as not having completed the “Sweeping the Shelf” quest.
2). In game, I entered “/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(25352))” and I get a “false” output in chat.
Step #1 and Step #2 seem to confirm that the Sweeping the Shelf quest was not completed by my Hunter but I’m positive that I completed that quest.
Knowing that, I continued as follows:
3). On my second account, I leveled another Hunter (Henaya) to the point in which I could accept the “Sweeping the Shelf” quest from Takrik and, after grouping together with Tamark, tried to share the quest with Tamark. The result was in an in-game response of “Tamark has already completed that quest” in the chat window of my second account.
4). Takrik Ragehowl, the quest giver for Sweeping the Shelf, does not have a quest available for my Hunter Tamark, or Priest Josena, to accept which can only mean that the quest “should have” already been completed.
5). Referencing another addon, Zygor Guides, shows that my Hunter Tamark accepted and then turned in the “Sweeping the Shelf” quests meaning that the quest should have been updated as completed, which would confirm both Step #3 and Step #4 results.
What is so very frustrating is that numerous issues related to Mount Hyjal are present in Cataclysm, based on the numerous Mount Hyjal issues posts in the forums, yet these issues still linger as broken with no timeline for correction, preventing access to the Molten Front for players like myself and others.
Edit: On 09/03/2024, a patch was rolled out for Cata Classic. Mount Hyjal is still broken for me.
Edit: Logged in on 09/24/2024 after weekly maintenance was very pleased to find the issues in Mount Hyjal have been corrected. Wish the issues could have been handled in a more prompt manner but glad it’s finally fixed.
