Cataclysm “classic” is even worse than we remember, give us a fresh vanilla-tbc-wrath cycle

I tried leveling with no heirlooms… and I still 2 shot obliterate absolutely everything. There is zero danger, no groups or consumes are ever useful, no point in using your full kit to take on tough packs or pulls because there aren’t any. The entire cataclysm leveling experience is built for toddlers. It’s not even a tutorial, because there is no reason to learn to use all your skills effectively or even use your full kit, because there is no danger. It’s all just a massive waste of time.

I’m also forced to take +10% guild exp buff and out level zones before I finish them…. Even leaving my guild doesn’t escape me from it. My main is in a guild with perks and I’m forced into having that insane exp buff on all my toons.

Classes are ruined, every class can do everything. Abilities are highly homogenized to hell.

Blizzard just give us a fresh replay of vanilla/tbc/wotlk. Cataclysm is truely the beginning of retail, in full. Nobody wants this garbage, other than retail players who are paying a sub to you anyway.

Sounds like you could find better uses of your time then. You do not sound like you enjoy Cata, and that’s fine, we live in a time where there is so much WoW available to us.

You just described video games.

Wrath leveling was a sad joke too.

I agreed if you said it a year ago, but compared to cata it’s a godsend. At least 1-60 in wrath it was still possible to be too reckless and die. In cata you are just an unstoppable god all the way to 80.

I also used to criticize wrath for homogenization…. Holy hell cata is so much worse. In wrath at least classes still felt somewhat distinct and unique, even with homogenized buffs.

All classes do everything is what made later difficulty to dungeon raid possible.

Everyone cc’s! Yes. Pve is built around 3 dps and even healer using cc. Or even trash mob pulls go bad.

PvP it evened odds. You could cc the rogue. Trinket out the cc and see if you break the cycle.

Every one heals in time ….same thing. It’s not even great heals. But….it lets other classes buff out some bruises leaving heals to focus on tank.

More buffers…had those slots not spoken for. It has to be class spec X. Now it doesn’t. This let you run stuff when X wasn’t here. Hero, mage time, lust, and so on…you get options.

Completely utterly false, especially for raiding. It was important in TBC to have all buffs covered with every class and viable spec (which is at it should be, every class should have a role and be necessary for the raid), this doesn’t prevent hard content.

Less homogenization means stricter comps, but the trade off of adding homogenization is ruining the rpg aspects of the game and making classes boring by giving them all the same play style.

Again TBC is proof homogenization is not necessary to have a semblance of balanced PvP. Every class had representation at the gladiator level. It wasn’t perfect but TBC arena worked without relying on making every class the same.

wow has 2 modes

classic: u fight a boar for 10 mins and get to the end game which is made for toddlers

wotlk or more: u 1 shot the boar and fight harder end games

choose your destiny

You mean exactly like Wrath?
I understand it’s like that in Cata, but that started in Wrath.
The open world in Wrath was a joke.

Or Dragonflight where the boar is mythic difficulty and eats you. (The boar dies to a stiff breeze in any other difficulty)

Wrath definitely was the start of making leveling a fat joke. But cata is unquestionably so much worse. And at least in wrath the exp boosts weren’t a big deal because the leveling was very non linear and didn’t out level zones, and I could turn off the buff for 1-20 when it’s a little too much.

noone cares go back to era and stop whining and no 99% of players do not want to restart vanilla to wrath just like 99% dont want to stay on 1 expansion forever.

no, but it lets said hard content be mechanically difficult rather than just over inflated numbers. with the homogenization they can insure that 99% of groups will actually have the proper tool kit to deal with more varying scenarios and not just rely on having certain mobs do more damage than they have any right doing

Wrong. You can have mechanically complex fights with unique and distinct classes. There is no reason why you cannot.

Or 99% of groups will cover their bases and make sure they have every class in their raid and all the necessary specs? Not that daunting of a task for 25 man raids. Unless you want 10 mans, which are lame glorified dungeons.

FTFY. It’s funny you retail andies think you matter at all in classic development. The treatment cata is getting is a testament to that… most of the classic exclusive players don’t like cata and they are the only financially relevant players to classic.

cry all you want but there is not enough people to support your ideas

SoD getting all the development time and blizzard bum rushing cata and leaving it for launch littered with so many bugs says otherwise.

blizz indeed took a big crap on cata but that says nothing about getting a van-wrath restart

Lol. The only people that think SoD gets more care are people who don’t play SoD

Yeaaa. Lets go do the horrendous spaced out questing in vanilla again. Lets go through babies first Tier 7 again in Wrath. Yaaaaaa. That’s what I want.

If you want a wrath server, ask for a wrath server. Simple. Don’t need to be a nostalgia - ridden fanboy.

The old way won’t even work as I see it.

In the old way one feared 2 murlocks.

In the worgen startup on once passed start where they are all yellow you get jumped by 2/3 werewolves.

Under the old way worgen start would either be lots of deaths. Or lots of running back to avoid 2/3 wolf attacks lol.

It expands really. Mop leads off into full blown war. Wod, Full blown war. Legion…war, war never changes.

Well there’s already era vanilla, so there’s that done.

The other two well… we know now how the classic dev’s are thinking in releasing expansions…
