At least in my battlegroup, there is essentially a 6 to 1 ratio of alliance to horde queuing up for either of these BGs and every single time its the same - Tol Barad is a complete wash because of these numbers, and in Wintergrasp the Horde get godmode to wipe entire parties of Alliance solo, but Alliance actually have the numbers required to play the BG at all and actually win it.
At first I was like ‘Oh man, only 20-25 horde in my entire battlegroup are actually playing these BGs thats sad’ but no, I queued up 20 minutes late for WG once thinking I would just get the tail end of the HK grind that its become but I instead got a completely fresh WG that still only got 20-25 horde. What is happening here?
I don’t understand why this issue isnt pushed into Blizzard’s face, either. I’m way late to reporting this. Is it something nobody thinks is a bug or has the community long since given up on this? It seems like there are as many instances of WG or TB that need to exist to accomodate the Alliance and then the Horde are simply being spread out (quite thinly) between them.
Should the solution not be to have the queue only create full battlegrounds? Even if that locks out some alliance that are too late to queue is it not better to have some battlegrounds actually being played than none of them at all? Especially in the case of Tol Barad we are just queueing for the honor reward for ending it, win or lose. There’s no tenacity buff here so Horde stay in the GY protected because theres no shot you’re winning a 1v6 and the alliance just capture the points uncontested. Even if there was tenacity it doesnt make up for the physical capacity that larger numbers of players have to be in multiple locations. 20 invincible players could never win against 120 others.
For the love of god do something about Wintergrasp vehicle scaling too
