As per the title, yesterday some very very obvious win trading happened to change hero spots on the ladder.
People who havent queued in upwards of 2 months suddenly jump on and lose up to 70 rating (Those in safe hero) to boost multiple people into hero range - including one who is a boostee.
These games literally had druids staffing each other rather than actually playing, thats how obvious the win trading was.
A brief list of those involved and their rating gain/loss from these trades:
Sethrbg +30 rating
Nick -50 rating (2600+ Safe hero range)
Bloomyy -50 rating (2600+ Safe hero range)
Kbr -79 rating (2600+ Safe hero range)
Positive +43 rating (2600+ Safe hero range)
Negative -23 rating (2600+ Safe hero range)
Zmunev +35 rating (2500+ Safe hero range)
Bigsloan -9 rating (2500+ Safe hero range)
Stormshiftx +60 rating (Moved into hero range)
Dylpickle +62 rating (Moved into hero range)
Notae +65 rating (Moved into hero range)
Lysix +44 rating (Moved into hero range)
Ferolp +70 rating (Moved into hero range)
Shlfty -26 rating (Stopped queuing to tie final hero position)
Zodd (Boostee) +71 rating (Moved into Hero Range)
All except 1 of these people in that happened to lose rating were very deep into safe hero - keep in mind 2400+ rbgs have been rare at best for the past 2 months maybe longer. For these people to just happenstance log in and queue against each other at this stage of the season just wouldnt happen.
An end of season banwave to everyone involved in this as it breaks ToS would be the best solution to try and make sure in future seasons this doesnt happen again.
Notably these games also just “Happened” to stop queueing when Zodd (The buyer for a boost) also got into hero range

Match fixing is scummy as hell. And there’s a reason it’s illegal in sports and teams like Juventus were handed finches, forced relegation, and points deficits.
It is not now nor has it ever been okay.
Blizz needs to bring in blitz to cata and lock hero titles behind blitz exclusively. Hell lock ranks 13 and 14 titles behind it as well. Only way they are going to prevent this kind of behaviour.

Its actually so bad I get random DMs in game from people asking to just joined win trading groups.
Just going to be honest PVP in just about all runs of Classic since its birth has been people that just take advantage of the best way possible to ruin it for anyone that just wants to PVP. Vanilla it was premades that just wanted to stomp pugs that often just didn’t spawn against other premades depending on who scored first. In TBC it evolved into lite win trading and scripts. WOTLK scripts took full command and win trading for money became more evident. In Cata its mostly just achievement hunters win trading so they can get titles… mounts… and whatever…
Blizzard just doesn’t care about PVP in classic. Its just a side mode. Probably because if you could bud into the creator discord you would see its just people complaining about gate keeping raiding in some way that benefits them. Very few PVP or offer PVP advice. These are really the only people they listen to and consider them the “community”.
It is just how it is and is always going to be. Its why if you really want to PVP you probably are out of luck. Yeah, ok, you can name an example here or there of a legit group but if you are in one of those groups you just deal with the win traders, que dodgers, and people in general that do not want to PVP legit so you get wrapped into it plenty too.
I respect the effort but just a reminder nothing happened to all the boosters and wintraders from TBC arena. Especially to the ones who do it live on stream every day. Those bans got overturned with a quickness.

Your evidence is some people won rating and others lost rating?
No, the evidence is that people who got well past cutoff then didn’t play for months happen to log in and battle some guys who were short of the cutoff and somehow everyone involved is now over cutoff.
If you’re asking about the TBC boosting I mentioned? I believe Chan and a few others were doing boosts for dono’s live on stream, or well getting dono’s then happening to play with the guy who donated.

I’d need harder evidence to believe something like this, I know some of the people you are accusing and I don’t believe they would risk losing years of effort for something like this.
I don’t. RBG wintrading and general cheating in RBG’s been going on since it was introduced. Whether it was using Skype to DDOS people or other methods, it’s been an issue for 14 years and I’m not the LEAST bit surprised people would do it.
Especially after all the people who got banned for wintrading and cheating in Arena had their bans overturned basically immediately, losing nothing for damaging the ladder. Blizz has already shown they don’t actually punish people cheating.

There was multiple warriors scripting in arena for nearly the entire duration of wrath, and one of them didn’t get banned till a month ago
Snuts literally was running a pilot mafia all of tbc and was snipping ppl who were trying to take the spots

If you’re talking about Dekel, he didn’t get banned because he wasn’t scripting. He’s still playing.

Honestly, no one is going to get banned because no one cares about cata, especially cata RBGs. The entire scene is full of scripters, boosters, win trading, dodging, all that nonsense. Season 2 is likely dead on arrival anyway.

A guild on Grobb was win trading 5s for quite a bit bc it was so dead you couldnt even get queues
