I am writing to see if the community can help answer aswell… I have noticed ALOT, not all, but ALOT of the rare spawns are not even spawning at all… What has lead me to believe this… In Deepholm there is a rare that gives a little spider pet. Very little people know how to get up to this very very hard spot. It hasn’t spawned. Also getting some feedback from people in my rare spawn group. Aeonaxx is another no one has seen either. Would love people to chime in and help. I really do think alot, not all, are bugged.

I personally haven’t seen a cata rare yet, but I assume that’s because there are a ton of people in the area.
Now I’ve been tripping over vanilla rares while arching like they are the plague.

I’ve killed Jadefang personally, and seen screenshots of Poseidus kills (and seen multiple Reins on our auction house at a time). I’ve also seen the rare drops from most Cata rares in trade or on the AH at some point, so they’re about. I think you’ve unfortunately either been unlucky or out-camped. Or screwed over by layering/phasing.
Another big issue is that deathwing going through zones is also killing some of the rares as well. I’ve checked on karoma and sambas constantly and haven’t seen either yet, I did find and kill jadefang and i’ve tamed terrorpene after having it killed by another hunter the first time.
I have 2 hunters on Mankrik, one Alliance, one Horde. My Alliance hunter has tamed Ghostcrawler, Sambas, Karoma, Terropene, and 4 colours of Madexx, and yesterday tamed Jadefang, My horde hunter tamed Ghostcrawler, Sambas, Terropene, one Madexx, and today got Jadefang. I obviously am mostly interested in the rare hunter pets, but also killed the rare armadillo in Uldum a few days ago that drops a tail weapon. Our auction house has a couple of Poseidon’s, so on Mankrik at least, I don’t think the rares are bugged.
