[Cata] Fragment of Deathwing's Jaw not dropping

Cataclysm Classic.

  • Any detailed steps you believe should be taken to reproduce the issue: I finished the 2nd to last quest in the rogue legendary dagger chain (collect 60 clusters) in raid tonight. I ported out and turned it in so I could pick up the final quest (Patricide) before killing Madness of Deathwing. After killing Madness, the Fragment of Deathwing’s Jaw did not drop, so I am unable to complete the quest.
  • The character name and realm on which you encountered the issue: Homiehugger-Faerlina

yup got my 60 clusters on heroic spine, went to turn in and picked up the patricide quest, got summon back, kill heroic DW and no jaw drop.

We will get the quest fix retroative and jaw sent to us? I just killed deathwing and i’m bugged too.

I’m Sure you guys can this game don’t have logs? you can mark the quest as completed, sent the quest item to players mails theres many ways do to it ires more about WANTING TO FIX it the right way not the lazy one

There is absolutely zero chance you aren’t able to retroactively get the item to everyone who was eligible for it and missed out due to this bug. There are already cases posted where the cluster drop was missed for other reasons and that was able to be mailed out to the impacted players.

The core bug with the jaw not dropping should be fixed now.

good now check my char logs: Scarfdeath-Benediction you can clearly see I killed the boss and sent the item by main our mark the quest as completed

this is straight up a lie, i had an issue where i wasn’t looted clusters before one of the loot boxes despawned and a GM was able to award them to me via the mail

don’t screw these people over because of a bug on your end when you can very easily fix it for them

edit: FYI this post was in reply to Kethryllia saying that GMs cannot generate items like the jaw for people that has now been DELETED

Has anyone impacted by this bug Tuesday night/Wednesday morning been able to successfully receive their jaw from an actual human support team member? I’ve been in a loop of what seems like automated responses saying they are unable to grant items, which I obviously know to be false. Their most recent response to me, quite literally, still had a {issue} placeholder where they probably meant to restate my issue in their response

And now it was marked ‘resolved’ even though all I got was another automated response, and I am unable to reopen it :slight_smile:

Late yesterday, we added a way for rogues who defeated Deathwing prior to the hotfix to be able to get their missed drop. Near the entrance portal of Dragon Soul there is now an Elementium Fragment that will spawn when Deathwing has been defeated. This will allow rogues who meet the following conditions to retrieve the Fragment of Deathwing’s Jaw:

  1. The rogue is currently on the Patricide quest.
  2. The rogue has killed Deathwing before.
  3. Deathwing has been defeated in the instance.

The Elementium Fragment should spawn into existing completed instances.
