It’s 2024 and yet a spec built in 2010 feels better than here? Strong direct damage with very high DoT damage as a result of crits, and the ability to spread all those DoTs to unlimited targets.
Fire has certainly lost its way since then. Now it’s just 12 seconds of burst and 2 minutes of zero damage filler, and mediocre AoE that we have to sacrifice Hot Streak for.
Can’t there at least be an option in this overbloated talent tree to create a build like this in War Within?
And getting unlucky streaks of no crits so you get to be sad.
Cataclysm Fire only feels good if you stack tons of Crit and Mastery (after getting to hit cap). If you don’t get lucky on crits, you have a very bad time compared to current Fire. I did enjoy their version of Combustion more than the current version.
you do not stack mastery in cata. Mastery is flashburn, not ignite. ignite is still the same only procs off crits for 40%.
Flashburn is good since it increases all your fire periodic damage but that mostly comes from crits. haste is better because of hard breakpoints and combustion scales very well with it.
