still a thing for resto? all the guides say balance affinity, just seems my dps is lackluster,
So I decided to go with Lycara’s Fleeting Glimpse. Primal Wrath in Restoration is some serious AOE DPS. Wild Growth is quite nice in human form however, you cannot stack the Wild Growth HoTs if there are 2 of them. The second one overrides the first one.
Cat DPS while playing Resto can sustain about 2.6k DPS on 5 targets if I use Sunfire, Rake, Swipe, Rip, and Primal Wrath. I can’t test Balance yet because Starfall hits all the target dummies in the room.

Still a thing. Right now in the very early expanses of the expansion I don’t think there’s much of a difference right now.
As things flesh out though, I’ve seen arguments about how Balance will pull ahead. But do what you feel is best. Catweaving is still a thing my friend!

I’ll do it regardless since it’s how I’ve played for a long time - but I can see why balance affinity is currently the standard this season. Lots of yuck for melee this round.

It’s gonna be interesting. I still think speed trumps all in most areas of the game - even m+ - but I’m not doing 20’s yet. So we will see. 
For now do what you want!

I have done both catweaving and boomboxing in Mythic 0s, both are fun. I prefer feral though, however both are viable. Play both so you get comfortable with typhoon weeks (sanguine)

Resto druid fine for mythics and all but having to shift in and out of cat to dps is annoying. Ill just play sham and priest

I also cannot get balance affinity to work for me either. Even when I feel like I’m blasting and perfectly using eclipses it’s meh. The only part of it that I find good is when I use convoke and get Starfall on an AoE pack.

I completely overlooked the 15% extra movement speed buff and DPS mobility that Cat DPS in Resto provided. As Balance affinity I am grounded and have to hard cast. There are trade offs to both.
I must admit that Catweaving is far more risky. I almost got deleted in a Mythic +3 yesterday going into melee range trying to scratch my targets butt. Total panic attack.

i am catweaving at heroic and m0 dungeons .
but my resto is struggling to keep people alive at m+ around 5-6 . if i have time to use sunfire, i am lucky
so i wouldnot mind not doing dps. Dps players being alive is more important.
Yeah on certain dungeons like sanguine halls and even in plaguefall- it feels like I have less opportunity to really catweave in there. When it comes time for +20’s I might switch to balance affinity for those narrow corridor types of dungeons.
For now though I think the sun fire and moonfire spam works for me. I typically burn on bosses fortified weeks anyway. Next week might be a little change
