i played vanilla through cat. I loved vanilla TBC and WOTLK but i maxxed all my toons and professions on cata and found the game no longer had any interest for me. now they are going to do cata classic and again I will leave the game I only came back for the rehash of vanilla but enjoyed TBC and WOTLK classic. I will not stay with the game when cat comes out if there are not dedicated wotlk classic servers. It was nostalgic while it lasted
Okay.

if it was so bad then why did you max all your characters and professions
I agree, I hated Cataclysm.
However, any classic versions of this game don’t appeal to me.
Just play classic+ or classic.
Oh I read the title and thought your cat walked on your keyboard, which deleted your character or ran your hardcore character off a cliff or something lol
I do think it’s dumb they won’t keep dedicated Wrath era servers.
Vanilla and Wrath are the two most popular iterations of “Classic”
This whole Cataclysm thing is interesting, because I’m not sure those Wrath players are gonna stick around for what is essentially a lesser-retail, lol.
We’ll see by the end of it.
If the population is too low, maybe they’ll shut it down like they did with Season of Mastery (Classic but easier, with faster leveling), because no one was playing it.
I hope wrath era servers happen, I’m not really interested in cata but would keep playing this version of wrath for years. Cata ruins my favorite zones like auberdine ![]()
If Wrath is so popular then why did all the Wrath people get bored and start playing Hardcore Classic?
Well they already did
Because Wrath isn’t exactly new and has been figured out, ICC came out a while ago and everyone is likely finished with all the content for now.
Unless they’re still doing Ruby Sanctum at some point after, which was the only post-ICC raid before Cataclysm.
Hardcore Classic is new, that’s why most of those folks are playing it.
I’m willing to be Season of Discovery will go the same way- I know I’ll be there too, lol.
It’s WoW, and it’s new, that’s why there’s interest.
Okay but the trend of going back to Classic and playing the unofficial hardcore mode started before ICC (supposedly during Ulduar), and it seems odd that that would happen during the expansion that classic boomers always say is their favorite, during the raid tier that they also always say is their favorite, rather than like during TBC or Cata
Why announce your departure?
level boost m+ and wow token just like the good old days
Yeah the ‘ironman’ trend was sorta old, I remember folks doing it in retail too before we even got Classic realms.
I guess people wanted an official HC without having addons, so they flocked over there as soon as it was up.
I honestly think people are playing both versions, they just raid-log on their Wrath characters, doing all their raids/dailies, then go to HC to play afterwards.
Can only raid once a week, after all.
Cat ruined wow
Did it push WoW off your desk?
The part about the old versions people forget.
Once raid is done for the week, not much else to do.
I’m sure the devs will be absolutely crestfallen to hear that.
Oh, this is happening don’t worry. Our masters are well aware of the addiction of WoW.

Same here. I was looking for what they were talking about, did they mean cat as in feral druid? Because some people have been talking about how busted they were currently but there was no mention of PVP.
This is why we use universally accepted abbreviations, Cataclysm was Cata, to differentiate it from the True Destroyer.
