Cat form falling damage is unrealistic

When falling from extreme height, cats spread their body like a parachute to increase drag and reduce their terminal velocity by about half, and distribute the impact by landing belly first like a pancake. Multiple case studies of pets falling from skyscrapers reveals a kind of damage ceiling, where injury severity and high survival rate is roughly the same from any fall height above five stories. Thus, cat form should cap fall damage at about 90% max health.

Pandas should get the same effect with Bouncy, as pandas are a kind of cat.

This mechanic would not be wholly unprecedented. In early expansions, warriors in defensive stance would take a maximum of 90% health in fall damage. I must assume they practiced the same pancake fall technique to achieve this. It is also possible warriors were secretly cats.

Is it bad that now I want my pandaren to bounce on their bellies when they fall off cliffs?

Back at ya!

I would also accept a similar fall damage cap with cat or cat-like companion pets.

Cats in real life do die from falling long distances. It would be nice to have the Glyph of Grace back, eh?

Pandas are in the Ursidae family, which makes them relatives to other bears (pretty obvious by their physical shape).

The Ursidae family is pretty close to the Procyonidae family (i.e. racoons) so Bears and racoons are distant cousins.

Not sure how you got pandas are cats.

You could always use Flap while in Moonkin form.

No, we must remain the Masters of falling from height

Even though warriors can leap at the ground, hunters and boomkin can disengage right before they hit the ground, priest and mages can slow fall, pallies can bubble, rogues can chain hook

But we must remain the Masters!

Kinda silly that shamans, masters of wind can’t do anything to fall slower

Pandas can meow. Thus you must be cats.

That’s not how evolutionary biology works!

(it is super adorable though)

Try it with a lion and you get a puddle. Druids don’t shift to house cats…

As a bear, a druid can wild charge a critter to avert falling damage.

I always wanted to land on my head. Figure I am dying anyway, might as well do it w/ some style.

What, you’re telling me you’ve never seen a gnome druid in feral form?
