Casual vs the 1%...We need to talk

I don’t understand why things are so tense right now between the serious players and the casual ones, but it’s starting to get out of control. Have you done a dungeon lately with more than 2 dps performing into the end? It gets VERY toxic and nobody can see which direction it ends up going. Take the new raid for example, if people really decide to go into a fight using the cooldown abilities without checking then people FREAK out.
We need to come together and take control of what’s going on in these groups because without a certain amount of players in each realm we won’t get the respect we deserve. That’s why we play wow and thats why we need wow to STAY wow.

Do you mean that if people hero/lust at random times, the rest of the group will be upset?

I understood the first sentence. Did anyone get the other sentences?

No idea, but miss-timed or absent Blood Lusts are triggering. :face_exhaling:

The Dark Titans Baby Rage was merely a preview

You say 1% like that’s accurate.

What about those people who lust at the start of epic battlegrounds so we can all get 30% bonus haste while we’re running to the first place

Honestly I just learned to tune it out there’s always gonna be people that are just loathing to scold someone in a video game especially when puging if I’m not having fun or there wasting my time I’m out and on the next group

Using an ability like that has no place without the group allowing it makes ZERO sense in the current landscape of the game. This isnt classic, this isnt ulduar this is modern wow and using that way needs more of a TEAM environment.

It does when it’s the difference between victory and not…

I mean use it whenever you want to in a battle ground… In a raid I could understand you being “scolded”

where is this tension that I don’t see

Battlegrounds are a different story because if you take a full group of people YOU HAVE a much higher chance. If elitists are going to control the game that way we need to learn how and why they do it and if we can change our playstyle thats fine. I just dont get the attitude of “oh i have the weapon i win” bs going around.

As a casual, I have no tension with the serious players. And I’m pretty sure they don’t know I exist. It’s a pretty happy balance

I don’t even know what the heck you’re talking about there are no issues between casuals and non casuals.

You’re gonna have people arguing about the semantics of the words you are using. Be specific.

When you say casual you mean…

I think poeole forget that wow breeds players like this like inherently the game makes bad players the game doesn’t tell you alot of these things you come to learn or find out and some poeole get on by never learning these things and you can’t really blame them or the community anymore it’s the games fault there needs to a better way for new players to understand these things

Arena is basically just constantly giving the same rank 1 players the big titles over and over. And there’s no way to beat them with their vast amount of knowledge. I already accept they are the best of the best, but is there any point to keep filling them up with custom rank 1 titles?

I wish there were other ways to get some other kind of Rank 1 titles in PVP, outside of Arena, some other kind of game/mechanic that us newish PVP-ers could actually have a chance for.

whoops. sry fat fingered

They should just introduce account-bound rating, good should play with good, bads should play with bads.

I honestly wouldn’t know. Usually if I do PVE content with random people I just expect to carry them and if not, I’m pleasantly surprised. I don’t mind people who aren’t as well geared, who don’t know the dungeons as well, who don’t run keys with their guild, etc.

It’s Not A Problem.

My point? Don’t paint everyone with the same brush.

Perhaps the first issue is that people consider people who play casually not serious players, when in fact many are. Perhaps they are not playing 24/7 because they have other responsibilities in their lives.

This is a game, one where every person pays the same price to play it. And with that, each person should be able to play their character and the game in the manner they want to without other people trashing them. In fact, Blizzard’s code of conduct forbids this:
**Behavior that intentionally detracts from others' enjoyment is unacceptable.**

I remember when the casual first came in late tbc… they destroyed heroic dungeons then once they they had them screamed it wasn’t enough…

I watched as they burned away every level of content barring heroic raids via lfr as they torn into each other.

The mythic player will fight to drive off the casual because the casual wants to kill the mythic player and wear his skin…

I remember being a casual during late TBC. I couldn’t get a group together to run a normal dungeon let alone a Heroic. But yes, please cry more about how your subscription fee was more important than mine.
